Name: Seamus Finnigan

Age: 17

Gender: Male

Residence: London, UK

Year: 7th

Blood: Half-blood

Wand: 11", willow, dragon's heartstring.

Appearance:

Seamus isn't the tallest fellow around, but he has never had any complexes about it. Standing at 5'9", he still grew quite a lot during his 5th and 6th years and he isn't that short and skinny boy anymore. Constant exercises helped him to form rather athletic shape and develop muscles, especially on his arms.

Seamus usually wears his sandy hair fairly short and, to be honest, he doesn't take good care of it. He also doesn't bother shaving too often and after few days starts looking quite rugged. Luckily, enough girls seem to like it.

Slightly prominent ears are one of the things that haven't changed a bit ever since Seamus was born. Other things includes his blue eyes, thin lips, not very long nose and a small birthmark just a little above his bottom jaw. A small tattoo on his right arm should also be mentioned here, even though it appeared on his body much later.

On his free time Seamus prefers wearing jeans and some shirt, preferably dark blue, which happens to be his favorite color. Seamus points the most attention to his shoes, no matter if they are sneakers or black-leather shoes, they have to be of high-quality. And also, Seamus is never seen without a silver ring on his thumb, with Celtic symbols engraved on it.

Personality:

Seamus is generally a friendly guy, who seems to be pointing no attention to one's age, gender, race or House. Laid-back and charismatic, he has made many friends throughout all Hogwarts, including some Slytherins, which many Gryffindors tend not to understand. However, the only prejudice Seamus has is his opinion on Slytherin girls, who he sees as a little too uptight and cold. Well, most of them.

Speaking about girls... Seamus is still rather young, but only a fool couldn't tell that this charming lad isn't going to be a real womanizer one day. He already can't overpass a girl without, at least, winking at her. Fortunately, being a nice fellow, Seamus tends to stay friendly with all his past hook-ups and girlfriends. He is always there to help them if they need something.

It's probably Seamus's charisma that attracts people to him. He is outspoken, witty and thoroughly good with words. Because of this, Seamus's foes usually gets the worst in verbal battles and girls have to be extra-careful when listening to his nice words. Seamus is totally different with his friends though, he is still charismatic and witty, but he never tells lies to them.

Another feature, that earned Seamus rather controversial reputation, is his roguery. One has to watch out when a wry smile appears on his thin lips. Of course, you don't have to entirely trust this guy all the time, but making a retreat would be also a rather stupid idea, since this dubious smile sometimes just promises you lots of fun.

History:

Norah Finnigan: Mrs Finnigan is very much like her son. That's probably one of the reasons they used to get on together so well. Unlike many boys of his age Seamus wasn't afraid to talk to her about everything. However, their relationship grew much worse ever since Seamus refused to go home with her after Dumbledore's death.

Desmond Finnigan: Seamus's father, a Muggle, plays a slightly less important role in his son's life, but this, however, doesn't mean that they aren't close. Desmond is often away, but when he is back to Dublin, Seamus and he tend to spend quite a lot time together. Now, with Seamus residing in London, they still keep in touch.

Kiera Finnigan: Kiera is more than annoying little sister in Seamus's life. This former Ravenclaw tends often to join forces with her brother, which makes mostly everyone try to keep out of this team's way. Almost inseparable, they are both sharp-tongued and witty. Also Kiera is probably one of a few females, that can really control Seamus.

Seamus Finnigan was born on April 17th, 1980. His father, Desmond, already knew the true nature of his wife, Norah, which probably will be in his son too. Despite this rather complicated situation, Mr Finnigan was ecstatic, when Seamus was born and that promised young Finnigan a happy childhood.

Seamus was raised in the suburbs of Dublin, where he played the role of the only child until the age of 3. That was until Kiera Finnigan came along. Unlike many older brothers would, Seamus showed his signs of responsibility for the little sister, ever since she was brought home from hospital, even though he was a young lad himself.

As years passed, Seamus and Kiera became closer and closer. To the other boys' complaint, Seamus took her mostly everywhere with him. Generally, the life was good. Desmond Finnigan had his own business and it involved a lot of traveling, but he was a very responsible father. Norah stayed at home until her children grew up to the age, when she could leave them alone, after that she got a job in Dublin, in one wizarding world bookshop.

Hogwarts acceptance letter wasn't a surprise at all, since Seamus showed the signs of magic pretty early. When finally time to leave came, Seamus was ecstatic. He made his first friends right on the Hogwarts express, all of whom later were sorted into different houses. Being sorted into Gryffindor wasn't a big surprise to Seamus either, since that was his mother's old house, but he felt a little unsure of himself, since he could have been easily sorted into Ravenclaw or Slytherin.

Fortunately, as the time passed Seamus proved himself to be real Gryffindor many times. His first year was pretty much the refflection of his studying results in the following ones. And, sadly, they were never very good. Yet the one goal he achieved in the first two years: more and more students learned about certain Seamus Finnigan from Gryffindor.

Sirius Black's escape made Seamus's third year much more exciting. He had never told anyone, except for mentioning it to Dean once, since he didn't want others to think he was reckless and foolhardy, but deep inside excitement coursed through his body everytime he was mentioned.

Seamus came to the Yule Ball with Lavender Brown, when a pretty Beauxbatons girl turned him down. He didn't care much, since Lavender wasn't a bad option, in his opinion. Seamus watched the tasks of Triwizard tournament with excitement. Diggory's death came a shock to him as to anyone else. At first, he took Dumbledore's word for granted, but his mother, who was a big role-model to him, made him change his opinion. This resulted in a huge fight between him and Harry, but luckily they managed to get around during the year and Seamus even joined DA.

When the war struck the country, Norah made it clear that she wanted both of her children to stay at home. Although it was Seamus who she bigger influence on, she only managed to make Kiera not to come back to school, while Seamus set off for another year at Hogwarts. This year was different; terror outside Hogwarts was affecting students, but Seamus tried to (and in a way succeeded) to make his 6th year as normal for himself as possible until Dumbledore's death caused more panic.

Mrs. Finnigan tried to make her son come home with her again, but Seamus insisted on staying for the funeral. He came back to Dublin where he and Norah had a number of rows and less than a week later he went away to stay at his muggle cousin's apartment. Seamus spent there all summer without any intention to come back home, and now he entered his final year at Hogwarts.

Preferred house: Gryffindor. Despite the fact, that, according to Sorting Hat, Seamus would have also made a good Ravenclaw or Slytherin, he was finally sorted into Gryffindor. Why? Surely, it must have been his bravery, idealism, strong will and determination to fight for everything, that's worth it: House pride, half-blood pride, family, even nationality (hence his proudly used Irish brogue).

Pet: Barred female owl Deirdre.

Class elective: Muggle Studies
