Rules
Alright! The almighty rules! Some rules are just common sense and commonplace, so I won't bother to even put them down, such as respect everyone and roleplaying is in the past tense.
I. General OOC Rules
A. This is a fairly adult oriented RPG. Meaning I won't censor much of anything aside from threats or bigotry. Free expression is encouraged, so if swearing or graphic discussion offends you, perhaps this is where you seek out another RPG.
B. Discussion is also encouraged on the OOC Board, be it your favorite bottled water or your stance on legalization of prostitution. I only ask that everyone keep an open mind, separate facts and opinion and try to see both sides of an issue to keep a discussion from becoming a heated and emotional argument.
C. Don't like somebody? That's fine. You don't have to like everyone. But I will ask for an acceptable degree of civility. Take your problems to PM, IM or E-mail.
D. You must be 13 or over to post here. I will not have EZBoard TOS violated on my watch.
II. General Posting Rules
A. Fighting is done in turns. You may not force a hit, land every hit, dodge every hit. Fighting is normally done in collaboration with the other RPer so what's going to happen is clear between both, and I encourage consorting with fellow RPers, be it plotting, fighting or OOC.
B. The plot here is free-form, meaning that there is no real set board-wide plot. Why? Because they tend to not take off. People respond, then they simply disappear, people necessary to the plot just filter out and it stops. So you are encouraged to build your own mini-plots with the other people and their characters here.
C. Swearing is acceptable within bounds, and we place no restrictions on mating. It may be done at any time, in any place, and as graphically as you see fit. Just make sure that if you're going to give the play-by-play on the nasty-nasty, you place a marker on your post (usually [m] or something of the sort will do it) for those who might not want to stumble in on hot wolfie sex.
D. There are few posting length restrictions. Some people love novels. Others can sum up nine paragraphs in two. Whatever floats your boat. Just be sure to give the other person enough of a post to work with and reply off of. One-liners are not acceptable in any way, shape or form.
E. This is an advanced RPG, not advanced in the way of lengthy posting, but I do require a degree of literacy. Posts raggled with indecipherable typos and liberated of proper grammar will be taken note of, the poster notified. There are too many spell-check programs out there for some of the stuff I see, and being the copy-editing nazi that I am when it comes to spelling, punctuation and grammar, I can't just sit by and let it happen.
F. You must post ICly once every two weeks unless you have posted in the Absentee thread. You must have a decent reason to post in the Absentee thread, and you may not live on the Absentee thread. Too many people post there and then don't come back for months, and it won't be tolerated. If you're going to leave for good, please let us know. I don't like being strung along for rides.
III. Character Rules
A. One character initially. If a second is desired, you must ask me, and judgement will be granted on the basis of activity of the initial character. If you are granted a second character, then both must remain active or the inactive one may be lost and I'll be more hesitant to grant a second in the future.
B. You may play characters that have died on other boards. That's kind of the point, really, to be able to play a cahracter you may be having reservations about having killed off, or you may create a completely new one.
C. You may play the following creatures at Totem:
Wolves- Any type or hybrid of types, providing they exist to this day.
Foxes
Coyotes
Wolverines
Bears- any excluding polar or panda bears, please.
Birds- raptor-types such as eagles or hawks, owls and ravens
Rabbits
Bison or Buffalo
Moose, Elk or Deer
Horses- Wild or domestic
Humans
Badgers
Cougars (a.k.a Mountain Lion or Puma), Lynx, or Bobcat
Otters
Porcupines
Turtles (any freshwater turtles)
Domestic Canines
Domestic Felines
