>>1. What is the rule on Admirals? Do you have to have 1 Admiral per SoL to bombard are if I have a fleet of 4 SoL and only 1 Admiral can all 4 bombard. And how does this play into effect on joint naval bombardments and attacks?<<
Hmm. Good question. It doesn't state it in the rules, but my ruling would be 1 admiral per fleet of ships is sufficient to allow all Ships of the Line in that fleet do bombardments
>>2. Will the tribal nation be able to discover the old world or only the other way around?<<
Yes.
>>3. What again does it cost to build sea trade I do not believe it says on the original rules.<<
Another piece of rules eratta. 8 resources.
>>4. Why does it state that it cost 5 rps to capture a MM as a prize of war? Is this only undefended MM? And if there is a undefended MM without war ships does it fight back or automatic capture? One the same note, is it free capture fee for SoL,Frigates, and MM that are taken in combat?
*Also why did the cost to repair a SoL go up from 10rps to 20rps?<<
None of that is official rules. What is listed on the website are the "official" rules, with the exception of eratta we announce here and on certain lists that we haven't managed to update the website yet. That being said, moderators of each game are given a lot of flexibility to introduce their own rules modifications in order to try new things and tailor a game to their own liking. Rules in a game that are not on the website are most likely a moderator modified rule for that game.
>>5. Can countries start out with Special generals? I noticed that Germany has a 10 and the Teutonic Knights have a 9. Will there be special generals if rolled by the mod. at the beginning of the game?<<
Yes. Though I haven't "rolled" for any generals as of yet, so anything on the map is just the temporary "default" starting map listings.
>>I would also like to know if you can post some type of thank you or letter of appreciation to John II. I have been playing in Game3, Game5, WWI,and now the competitive game as well as watching the numerous others and as a moderator John is by far hands down the best. And because of his flow and timely replies I have been able to influence 6 other friends to start playing (2 of which have since board every, and I do mean every, board game that you produce-There rooms look like large map boards, they could be potential stalker fans of yours in the future) mainly because they loved the game, as it was presented by John, and the faithful play of the people that frequent this site.<<
John has been rock steady as a moderator. A couple points of contention with a few players, but that's almost certainly unavoidable and to be expected. He's implemented a few more new elements than I might have prefered, but then, moderators are free to do that. We will be seeking ways to appropriately thank John and our other moderators in the future. But let it be known that we certainly do appriciate their work and efforts. I'm also happy to hear that this game as helped to introduce more of your friends to our games and our gaming products...its been the intention to let this game stand as a "free" showcase of sorts (a marketing endevour, if you will), that would let players see what some of our board games are like to decide if they would be interested in checking out others that we sell.
P.S. I'm going to repost this to the competition game e-mail list because of the rules clarifications.
Thanks,
