Rod
I'm looking to set up an inexpensive fly fishing Kit to haul around in my SUV. Will be after most game fish as its for general recreation and some food. Was thinking of a 6-7 type rod but am not to experienced and would like some advice on gear. I also am a cheapskate and have 2 kids in college. So price is important.
TIA

Have you considered a Daiwa or Eagle Claw Travel pack? They come with mini-spin type reels and 4-piece rods that are packed in a travel case. Really neat little set ups and pack away so as to avoid damage from throwing around in a vehicle. To cast flies with them you can attach a clear plastic float with leader to the fly. Have used this setup before and it works very well. A fly rod has limited use for other types of baits such as small spinner baits, crakbaits and jigs.
