Re: Risk of Flooding
We had a few showers today but nothing out of the ordinary but as usual when I came out of work the road was moderately flooded. I don't think it's rained since I came home but I just tried to nip back to the office this evening but the road was so flooded I just couldn’t get to it. I have a nasty feeling that the office carpets are going to be a bit wet tomorrow.

I think theres something seriously wrong with the drainage system there. Water should go down the grids but here it seems to come up! Now that can't be right. The council guys say it's when the brook gets high but that’s just not the case. We've not had that much rain lately and the brooks low at moment yet the roads flooded. Other times I've seen the brook looking more like the amazon yet the roads clear. Stranger and stranger!:rolleyes

But the best thing about the whole flooding thing will be tomorrow morning when the guys responsible for keeping the drains clear won’t be able to get to their depot.:rollin

Re: Risk of Flooding
I slept in a bit this morning so I missed watching the council workers trying to get through the flood. By nine all that was left to see was two drain sucking wagons and blokes brushing the water down drain holes that were clearly not draining anywhere.

I asked the bloke doing the sucking and got the usual answer. He said they keep putting in reports but nothing seems to get done. :(

PS All a bit of a waste of time because by 1pm it was all flooded again:lol

Dave

I don't think they'r doing anything in Newcut Lane but they seem to have the pavements up either side of Manchester Road. Maybe thats where the blockage is??
