Rescue
*Tomal Saichairi, robes of soft black velvet covered in runes and glyphs of warding and protection strode with the small company of witches, students and creatures that had been assembled for this task, this potentially suicidal stike.

Carmilla walked ahead, her weapons ready at hand, her walk giving a hint but those terrible obsidian eyes of hers, beginning to let off a fine black mist. Teak, her ever-present guardian walked loosely in her wood-nymph form, just behind the half-necromancers shoulder. Tomal walked steadily, the Drow he knew so well getting closer with every step, he pushed aside his mixed feelings, focussing only on the task ahead and the arseanl of spells he held within his mind. Cordelius beside him, eager to begin this fight she had come back just in time for. Alfred walked, wings half unfurled, feet sounding loudly on the ground, his oath put aside for this he clacked his claws gently.

Serena and Ali, the headgirls and Pieter the Gryffindor Prefect, a trio formed behind Alfred, their determination as clear to see as the wands they held tightly in their hands. Behind them, coming last Peregrin and Victor, both intense and ready to go, the ones that had been entrusted with guarding the only exit while the rest drove for the kids, they couldn't hope to defeat that many drow. They could only hope they would be quick enough to catch them by surprise and avoid a direct confrontation with over 300 warriors.

The kids they were going in for, they would be battered, bruised and probably broken by now. Too weak to fight, they would need to be able to run.

Carmilla reached the door and Tomal began to softly chant as he strode, working magics ancient and forgotten to the seductive ease of the wand.*

((ooc: for some reason Tennysons "charge of the light brigade" comes to mind))

((another ooc: and lets try to not all jump in here all over the place, captured students, you will know when you should be able to respond ;) and so on))

Re: Rescue
Serena gripped her wand tigher. She was scared, but ready. She would not fail again. They reached the door where she guessed the captured students and the Drow were. She could only imagine what the students in there looked like. Serena's breathing got heavier as they waited to enter the door. You can do this Serena, be brave. You will not fail.

Re: Rescue
Peregrin walked slowly alongside Victor down the long passageway to those double doors that sealed the way. The movement dragging his mind back into a semi-numbed reality, rawly seething inside at what had been done by these creatures he wanted to be running into the chamber, burning everything that moved. He would watch the door though, he would trust Carmilla to make sure they found Ryleigh and brought her out. And he would watch the backs of their group and make sure they didn't get stopped.

He slowed as they reached the doors, they were to be the last two through those doors. Knowing his eyes would be visible to pretty much anyone if it was dark enough he agreed...he wasn't exactly hte most subtle person in this group....

Re: Rescue
Ali looked around nervously, waiting to enter that Hell hole her friends and classmates were imprisoned in, sweaty palm gripping her wand. She was freaked, but she was ready. Whatever it took to get her friends out of the clutches of those foul creatures. Inhaling deeply she turned to Prof Saichairi, watching him intently.

Victor stood beside Peregin. He could tell how much Peregrin wanted to get in there, but he followed Camilla's wishes as did Victor. He raised his hands, ready for anything, waiting for the door to be opened and expecting the worst to come out.

Re: Rescue
Teak stepped up next to Carmilla while Tomal began his spell she muttered something in her ear and then turned quickly around, her tiny hand balled into a fist, she flicked it out and opened it quickly and sparkling blue and white dust filled the area and landed upon everyone in the vicinity.

"There are hell hounds in there. That will repell them...for a short time." She announced before anyone could respond to her actions.

"How short?" Ali asked nervously.

"Depends." Teak replied slowly.

"On what?" She asked again stepping forward a deep concern filling her.

"Enough." Carmilla chimed in quickly. "It will be fine, just stick to your task and there will be no problems." She stated in a very final tone. She stared at Teak for a moment, her black eyes blazing in that odd mist, before she turned back to the door getting her spell ready.

Teak turned from the crowed tilted her head slightly, thinking about what they were going to do next. She shook her head at herself, this Nymph form would be no good, not for a mass killing. She needed something...bigger, something deadlier (if that was possible for her).

She sighed slightly and stepped back, her green eyes flaring and shifting to a steel gray color she froze immediatly, her slender lightly clothed body turning steel as well before it cracked in several places and fell completly to the floor, leaving a large blue and gray flapping bird in its place.

Almost instantly the bird lit up, a flash of blue light was seen, it trailed over it's featherd body, molding and shaping into a much larger figure, in another flash smoke filled the area leaving the bird unseen. Only a moment after, a large Ebony clawed foot scraped out of the heavy fog, followed by a thin muscular leg that was attached to an equally thin yet muscular and femine shaped black stone body.

Teak came out in her new form. A gargoyle, fast, capable of flight and very deadly.

Slowly, her steel eyes glared around the area ignoring the stares she got from everyone. She crunched forward her large wings expanding for a moment in a fluid motion then curling themselves around her body, her thin shiny black face glinting, she opened her beak and spoke, the sound like rock grinding against rock*

"Forgive the scene mistress." She muttered to Carmilla, who meerly chuckled, turning back to Tomal slowly, waiitng for him to finish whatever he just started.

Re: Rescue
*Alfred, clacking claws together slowly and with rhythm stood behins his master, wings lightly curled around his massive 7 foot frame, light bouncing from glistening sleek stone muscles. His void like eyes watching that dense fog, his heavy jaw slipping at Teaks form, exposing masive, sharp teeth. He ground his mouth back closed, unconscioulsy opening large hands and closing them after spreading wide visciously clawed hands.

His wings half unfurled, and he straigtened already perfect posture, feeling he was being looked at he turned his head slowly and reluctantly to meet Tomal's stern eyes, his muttering ended and a sheen of grey light shifted around the Potions Master before he spoke again, his spell cast. "Behave." came a quiet and soft word meant just for Alfred to hear.

The Gargoyle looked back at Teak helplessly and moved closer to the door, ready to charge in with this godess at his side.

Re: Rescue
*Waiting only a moment more for Amaya to adjust the crossbow on her arm, Carmilla finally lifted her caramel hand to the door, her fingertips trembling in the slightest as she pressed her palm firmly against the large heavy barrier that kept her from her students.

Slowly the large double doors began to ripple, like a smooth calm liquid that had its motionless flow interuppted in the slightest, it spread through the middle until it was wide enough to fit at least 4 people through.

Carmilla looked at Teak and Alfred pointedly, her black eyes misting only further, narrowing in the slightest and nodding before flicking them to Tomal, who was to go in after them, followed by her 2 head girls and Prefect.

"Find my children and sheild them grandfather." She instructed/requested quickly, they had to do this as fast as they could. She wanted to at least hold off all battles until her students were safely through these doors.

*Pieter waited for the two gargoyles to enter what now seemed like hell. One of Pieter's most strangest behaviors appeared on the surface of his mind. His heart was turned to stone, rock solid ice, no emotion, only thought and determination not to break, not to melt. While the core consisted of a warm 'substance, giving him strength.

Pieter took a step forward, making clear he would step in after Tomal.

He put his left hand in his enlarged money bag, making sure the cloak and some other powders where still present. Pieter straightened himself, ready to save his friends, fellow students. Failure was not an option...*

Re: Rescue
*Tomal shifted forward, watching Carmilla 'liquify' the doors, Teak in her new form stepping through, followed a little too quickly by Alfred. He turned and surveyed the group one last time*

"Merlin guide us." he spoke softly under his breath, the light on his staff dying quickly.

*He nodded his head at Carmilla, stepping past her and entering the vast Chamber of Secrets. Purple light dimly lighting the chamber, his quick absorbing glance showed the ceiling too high to be seen, many pillars knocked to the ground, dim shadows apletny. Holding his staff lightly, Teak on one shoulder, Alfred on the other he moved quickly and silently, shifting across the ground as a shadow.

Finding the pillars and flitting from one to the other, his eyes picking up the details of the chamber now. The tent campsite, the brightly glowing Dark Circle, many purple flaming fires he shook his head at their stupidity and wished for an istant he had come here without the safety of the kids to concern him.

Flitting from shadow to shadow he finally spotted a high walled area, pausing he sunk into a crouch, staring at the region. waiting for what seemed an eternity before he made out the four guards. Two pairs, one at either corner, a pair of hell hounds at the entrance. It could only be where the kids were and judging from the look of the place, all the Drow were gathered somewhere in the camp.

His hand lifting he beckoned his two gargoyle companions, sliding his hand through the air and pointing the guards and the dogs out. Not saying a word he waited.*

Re: Rescue
It only took a moment for things to register, her steel eyes narrowing she speed foward, her stoned claws clicking slightly against the molded ground, in a swish of her wings - which folded themselves tight on her back - she bounded onto a near wall, crawling across with a fluid and unremarkable speed for her current state.

Quickly, a cruely clawed hand came down on an unexpecting purple four foot chain mailed figure, it sunk into his neck, sprouting blood all over Teaks stone smooth skin. A very muffled gag being the only thing to escape.

Holding the shivering writhing creature in her hand, Teak continued her crawl down the wall, slinking up behind the other guard, her other claw skewering him in the back, his yelp being cut short as Teak's other claw released the already dead Drow, slashing into her current victims throat the blood splattering the side of her face.

Slowly she dropped that insolent figure, sniffing slightly letting a low crunchy growl escape before she slid into a neaby shadow which was cast by one of the tall pillars decorating the hellish area.

She breathed for a moment, her steel eyes flicking to one of the Hell Hounds that was slowly approaching, she guessed it must have heard and smelled the death of two of its masters. Curling up against herself, teak waved one of her bloody claws silently beckoning the doomed creature to her.

It obeyed idly, its snotty nose picking up the sent quickly it trotted over to Teaks hidden location, letting off a hungry growl as it did. Quickly it reached it target, only to meet its horrific death as Teak latched both of her dangerous claws around its neck, snapping it in a flash, not even a whimper being allowed out during this merciless murder.

Her task being finished for the moment - to kill the left side of the final barrier that held her Wards students. Stepping back slowly, trying to keep her grinding claws as quiet as possible Teak clattered onto the wall again, melding with it perfectly, she waited for a signal to let her know that Alfred too completed his task, so she could take her next step.

Rescue . . . a scene from a distant realm
Baron Cesar de Bazancourt, History of Magic Professor, stood in the antechamber of a distanct domed hall of a city that disappered from the "muggle" realm centuries ago. He stood watching the rescue though his crystal ball. A six legged cream furred cat sat upon his shoulder and wrapped his tail around Cesar's neck.

"It should be ready, my apprentace." The cat said.
"Just in time, Master Barbary." Cesar half smiled. The present he had been preparing for his wife had been slowly shaped and forged over the last 8 months.

A human dressed head to toe in navy blue stepped up behind them. "Masters . . . "

Cesar turned as he and Barbary looked at the Boanergee Initiate of the Order of Ramses. The Initiate held out his hand, which held a metal tube.

Cesar took it from the Initiate and inspected it. The tube had been forged by the fire of dragons, enchanted in the lightning of thunderbirds, and cooled in the tears of unicorns. "Her staff is ready."

Cesar tossed it in the air and snapped out his own staff of the Boanergee. "Adlysia tengusu telpsum."

The tube disappeared in a vortex of bluelight. . . . ..

Re: Rescue
*Alfred shifted alongside Tomal knowing from many years out with his master what was meant and moving as Teak did. Launshing himself up in the same manner, wings folded tightly he latched onto the wall of the pen. Waiting a moment before crawling quickly along the wall, slowing behind the drow, at perfect head height his left arm freed from the wall.

A massive hand lashing out, wrapping around the head easily and slamming the fragile elf's head into the wall, crushing its skull as easily as an egg. Pausing and lowering the now corpse he moved silently again, coming up to the corner with the elf he slipped to the ground. Making a little too much sound the guard began to turn, too slowly as razored claws ripped into his back, tearing into his lungs at the same moment as the other stone hand curled over his head, claws ripping into his throat and shoving the head back, half tearing it off in a spray of blood.

Knowing he was behind Alfred wasted no time, hearing the snuffling of the hell hound picking up blood, his knees bent launching him into the air. Wings unfurling he slammed back down over the dog, landing in a crouch, claws ripping into the base of its skull, the only sound it made as it died was the flopping to the ground beneath Alfred. He stood slowly, blood dripping from shining black rock, waiting for any sign of movement that wold show he had been seen or heard, it did not come.

Re: Rescue
*Carmilla hadnt been witness to the Carnage that was going on just outside of sight, it bothered her slightly, the fact that there was no screaming and yelling yet remained the only thing that assured her everything was fine.

She sighed and waited a few minutes more before she nodded towards Pieter, Ali and Serena, indicating they should cautiously head through the door.

Slowly, and silently they did, slipping warily through the liquified doors, their bodys going cold for a moment before they came through the other sides, all three of them searching for Tomal, who waved them over quickly.

They obeyed without a word crouching next to him waiting for further instructions.

Carmilla swallowed heavily, watching her students enter the chamber, her worry increasing, as well as her anger for all of this.

She looked to Amaya, nodding quickly at her, letting her know they were next. Amaya nodded back, once again adjusting her crossbow stepping forward slightly as she did pausing next to Carmilla waiting for her so they could enter at the same time.

Carmilla mustered up her last feelings and closed them away, making sure her focus was only on one thing for now. She stepped foward slowly, being cut off quickly as a blue vortex appeared in front of her. She stepped back quickly, her black eyes narrowing at the distraction, she blinked rapidly at it.

There in a blue orb a floating steel tube spun innocently. Carmilla tilted her head at it, an image of her husband Cesar - wearing a half-grin faded in and out of view. She sighed relieved, swallowing slightly, she reached out for the image and the staff slowly, her hand seeping through the blue vortex, her slender caramel fingers wrapping around the thin tube slowly.

Almost instantly as she touched the object, it shimmered a light blue color, a slight shock running through her arm, her black eyes opening wide in astonishment to the feeling she was getting from it.

"Its...What is.." She started, her eyes now blinking rapidly, and her mouth going slightly slack as the tingling and color ran up her arm, reaching her chest wrapping over and through her body. Her eyes lit up slightly as well before everything died in a instant.

Carmilla closed her eyes swallowing slightly gaining herself, seeing this tube used many times by her husband, she knew instantly what to do, she shook it only once, keeping it well away from her eyes. She was told that would be dangerous. Immediatly after she did, it snapped open to its full metalic length, seeing a surge of electricty run through it once, she twirled t in her hand, getting used to it again.

She looked to Amaya who was studying it and her friend intently.

"Its been so long since I used staff..." She breathed, still in slight awe at the whole thing.

Amaya simply blinked in response.

"Thank you Cesar." Carmilla muttered out loud and in her mind to her husband, wherever he was. Slowly she shook it again, concentrating, forcing it to snap closed again, it obeyed after a reluctant shake. She sighed

"This is gonna take some getting used to." She added to herself, placing the staff in one of her belt loops, having just the job for it.

Amaya finally spoke, but not to Carmilla but to Peregrin and Victor.

"Remember, be as silent as you can until needed." She told them before turning her ocean blue eyes back to the rippling door stepping through quickly taking a postion in a shadow by Tomal and the rest, waiting for Carmilla to follow.

Shortly after Carmilla did, skirting across the stone floor, her black eyes alert, she kept the thud of her boots to a minimum stopping only when she reached Tomals side.

"When Peregrin a Victor get out here, cast a sheild on them, then the students." She told him, her eyes flicking around the large area, her breathing increasing slightly.

Trying to calm herself down Carmilla's hand went absently to her 'present' fingering it idly, her anxiety only growing.

Re: Rescue
Peregrin waited more watching closely as Carmilla 'melted' the door and the two gargoyles left with Tomal. Sucking on his lip, needing that to draw his mind back to the front of himself he blinked, something highly noticeable in this dim light, when that light appeared, flames flicking from his fingers instantly, they died as Carmilla didn't seem too worried and drew something out of the light.

He frowned a little puzzled by the affair, recognising the staff as one his History of Magic Professor used and tying its purpose and name to a memory of a class he had had not too long ago. Staring with an intense vacancy at the staff he tilted his head at Professor Cordelius and her words, nodding stiffly and wondering exactly why he had been relagated to wtch the doors....he shrugged it off and followed silently in his softer skater shoe things (i knows what they is) after only he and Voctor had been left.

Stepping through the door and hissing quietly at its coldness he shivered and slitted his eyes to minimise how noticebale they would be. Taking up a position behind a small pile of rubble a few meters from the door and blinking quickly at the shoadwoy figures he was searching for to show he was in place, drumming his fingers against each other silently and fighting to keep himself still as he began what could be a long wait.

*Pieter looked back as Carmilla and Amaya appeared through the wall, a small rifling and again it was a normal wall, or it seemed.

While Peregrin and Victor both took their places, he saw Carmilla's hand going to a tube, almost eagerly, noticing she didn't have it before. While that question was walking through his mind, he put it aside, hiding it in a box to be opened later.

As darkness never really enabled him to see, (he has large pupils, who give him better sight in the dark then others) he saw a body, chain mail covered with dark blood. He looked at it, a moment he thought that that had been a terrible dead, it was. But the creature wouldn't have hesitated to do the same thing to anybody...*

((LOl, I really have got large pupils, part reason why I wear glasses, don't know for sure, a boyfriend of my aunt noticed I had large pupils one day and told me I would someday wear glasses. Re: Rescue
*Tomal Saichairi had his eyes closed, keeping his ears highly active and mind free of visual distraction, the soft saound of Carmilla's boots and the students shoes telling him it was probably time. He turned back to the door, seeing a pair of shadows stealing quietly into cover close by thier post, the dimly glowing eyes of Peregrin giving him away until he snapped them mostly shut.

Quietly chanting, his long delicate fingers spun through the air in an intricate pattern, on the second drawing fine golden lines appeared where his fingers drew the glyph in the air. Finishing the spell, the golden glyph hovered a moment before Tomal spoke a single last word, the glyph shooting towards the door, splitting into two smaller versions of itself which hit the boys. Shimmering for an instant before the powerful shield settled into them.*

"Thats the doors, now the pen." he muttered softly at Carmilla.

*Turning to face the high walled area he stood, happy that the pillar he was by would cover him form eyes as he slowly began his second shiled. Much longer to cast, far longer to draw, a minute had passed before the golden lines began to appear. A large glyph, smooth lined and three dimensional, a solid form of magical enegy waiting to be released. He spoke the last word, pushing at the symbol with his palm, it spun around, sailing high above the pen, faintly glowing its light as it came to a hovering rotating stop above the center of the pen. Tomals eyes shut, his breath dropping a final unintelligble word to the ground. The rune spun, breaking up into 70 tiny fragments which dropped to the students below, unseen as they hit their sleeping targets, causing them to shimmer once before protection coated them in a layer of ancient powers.*

"Come quickly now children, we must get to them before we are discovered." he whispered,

*sliding from the shadows and moving quickly from patches of dark light, his footfalls making no sounds, as he reached the pen, glancing at the heavy gate, his staff swung through the air after he had measured the weight of the obstacle in his mind. A single word, the last word of a spell he had placed into his staff long ago. The gate seemed to break apart instantly, tiny fragments dropping from it, breaking away and dropping back and to the ground, never reaching it as the spell continued to disintegrate every particle of the substance that gate was made from.

He glanced at Alfred who stepped back, crouching on the outside of the gate, Staring out at the camp and ready to take flight and attack the instant an alarm was raised.*

"Quietly now people, we go to wake our friends, do it gently and carefully, the less sound we make the less likely we are to be discovered."

*Confident Alfred would warn of any danger and that no attack could hit the pen with Carmilla and Amaya watching he stepped inside, followed by the three kids who spread out quietly. The stench of this place, dried blood and unwashed bodies, the pain and misery that hung thickly on the very air Tomal shut his eyes and gathered himself, the task was not vengeance, but undooing harm. Tomal reached someone, kneeling slowly at their side, a hand slipping gently to the childs shoulder.*

"Be calm, we are here now." came his single word, spoken softly.

((ooc: I do hope that is alright, anyone may post in here now, feel free to.))

James had just woken up. He saw that some other students were still awake (aka from "The Last Thread"). He was about to get up and say something when he saw a spell flying through the air at them. He frowned, this was it. The drow were killing them all off. James closed his eyes and waited for it to hit, when it did he expected pain. But nothing. He looked up and saw one of the teachers from school!!!! He jumped up and listened to the words the teacher was saying. They were being rescued! He quickly ran around, trying to be silent and wake people up all the while his heart was jumping for joy.

Re: Rescue
A guard walked around the Drow camp, his large communal tent was full of his peers, all talking about the meeting that had been called, bringing all work to a screeching halt. He stopped beside a purple flamed fire, rubbing small hands over it and warming himself a bit.

He turned and presented an armoured back to the fires, staring out into the darkness, his eyes readjusting quickly from staring into the fires this close up. He cracked his knuckles, bored and decided to go find one of his friends, he was still on sentry duty at the pen for the slaves.

With slow steps, the walk of boredom and laziness combined the guard began to make his way over to the pen, his eyes not yet adjusted enough to make out the very slight light the spells had caused. Wondering if his friend would let him inside the pen, his fingers resting on the whip at his hip, he would find a way to be entertained.
