Random Thoughts of the Day
I'm in an odd mood, I just watched Monty Python (dead parrot sketch!). So yeah, voice your random thoughts, they can be questions, statements, whatever.

What the heck is Blancmange? It plays tennis in Monty Python, they talk about eating it in Harry Potter- all I've gathered from french students is that it translates to "white eat" or something like that, but what kind of food is it really?

Wow, you actually asked that question. Now I know we're going to hear more American jokes...lol!

Gosh. I didn't realise that was (yet another) word americans wouldn't understand.
Blancmange (pronounced bla-monj) is a pudding made basically of milk sugar and jelly (gelatine... I have a feeling you don't have jelly in america, either). The ingredients are mixed together when warm, then left to set in a mold. Often coloured (or colored...) pink. Served with cream and fruit. The result is opaque and wobbles.

It would help if they showed them on TV...why DON'T they?! And, of course, there are only so many that you can rent here. SPF bought some, but I don't have the funds for that right now...
I keep hearing about the Spanish Inquisition one...never saw it though. I always get flashes from Good Omens when I hear about that...
Yes, the Upperclass Twit of the Year was super. Well, they all are, but still...shooting themselves in the end...priceless!

If they showed them they'd be on A&E so it wouldn't help you much. I only have three, *sob*. Must...get...more. To bad I didn't put any on my xmas list.
Hmmm, next random though (stolen from evil Bio test). How deep would the ocean really be if we didn't have sponges?
Yes, odd and pointless, but that's the point

I knew that. But I had no idea what hetreoce- whatever was. Yeah, I left that blank. And I think I played 'close your eyes and point' for most of the matching. But I knew where the shark's pancreas was! Oh- was that the auricle or the ventricle? I wan't quite sure...

Re: Random Thoughts of the Day
Dracula- oh, creepy. Vlad the Impailer...I like that name. Wow, you two must be theater buffs! Ahhh! That quote is kind of ironic because Grim and I just finished reading "Heart of Darkness" and Kurtz liked to..well, coerce the natives into worshiping him and dance around a bonfire preforming obscene rights. (an no, they didn't say what they were) Yes... well.. ok then
Re: Random Thoughts of the Day
Yesterday my right ear got frostbitten and now it itches.
And when it was snowing it looked like thousands of tiny white butterflies- all dying at the same time.
And I watched a movie involving a diety in a creepy bunny suit.
'
But the important thing is, it reminded me of all the Prattchet books that I have yet to read.

Don't even try and say anything positive about snow! I was stuck in the car with my dog for 2 hours for a 5 minute vet appointment because of snow!!!!

Re: Random Thoughts of the Day
ahhh..... snow. Once, or twice if we're lucky, each year we get an inch of snow. The country stands still. Children frolick, adults grumble a bit and then start frolicking too. Snowmen are built using all the snow in a one mile radius... giants four feet high. Sledges are pushed down cold grassy banks. By about noon the only ice that is not melted is in peoples freezers. We go home for a hot bath, tired, and depressed that we probably won't get any more snow this year.
rob, who had a snowball fight with some youths at a bus stop last time we had snow... which wasn't quite enough to stop the buses
Re: Random Thoughts of the Day
I wish we had more snow. We've been amazingly dry this year, frozen in 0 degree temperatures, but dry. The ski places are complaining. I'd love to be by you when it was snowing! Does everyone forget how to drive? That hapens for the first snowfall here; they tend to forget that breaking before a turn is generally a good way to avoid getting stuck in a ditch. I can just picture a brown lawn with a tiny snowman. Do you have inner tubes for sledding? Like giant donuts with a slight indentation in the middle and filled with air so they're cushy. You can travel really far even when there isn't snow. That's the sled of choice here.

I really want to reclaim my childhood; or go in the hot tub..... maybe both. Grim will be jealous.... I'm such a dork.

Liz (who really wants t go sledding now) would like to know if you mean the hot tub or the reclaiming of childhood...
Incidently, for my own random thought of the day--more for Irene--If they made a movie of Heart of Darkness, who would play the parts?
Also, why are sheep always associated with dreams...where does this 'jumping over fences' come from? Is it mythical, Irene?--or just random?
