Psycho Scareapy- All I can say about this one is "wow". To me, one of the best things about a house is that it actually makes you feel like you're in a horror movie, and this house did just that. It did not feel like you were walking through a pre-determined path, but you were walking through the Shadybrook Rest Home. All of the actors were at the top of their game when I went through this one both times. The amount of little details will blow your mind. (Coolest feature: ummm.. well.. the smelliest probably..)
Re: Psycho Screapy
Psyco Scareapy. THe Scareactors in this house we in such good character! The were climbing on walls and jumping off of stuff. This house was so much fun. It was very gross though! Like im not just talking about the crap scene, i mean like really nasty. There was a traffic jam inside because someone through up. But I loved this house because of the pure amazing detail, and the amazing scareactors. Spoilers Beware! Ok well they used the mirror trick from SH from last year twice, the really gross scenes are when you walk through the dental part and they have people straped in chairs with their bodies cut open, and the scareactors would stick their hands in there and like their dolls and stuff. Very Cool!
Re: Psycho Screapy
My sister had been dreading this house the most. Crazy people bug her
out and she was very hesitant to enter. I had heard such great things
that I couldn't wait to go thru. The outside sets up your journey
into madness nicely. The gates of Shadybrook look real and were
pretty creepy. The megaphone guy out side had us in stitches as he
laid there on the ground on a bloody towel. "I found the floor, it
was right where I left it." Too funny!!! Upon entering I could see
the production values. The reception area was neat with the crazy
nurse yelling at me and beating a patient who was on all fours. You
could stand there in that house with a tape recorder and get some
great lines. Really funny yet sickly disturbing. My favorite that I
heard was; "This is my room" It was not what the actor said ,but how
he said it. He was acting ala Arny from What's Eating Gilbert Grape
and he bounced up and down a little. So funny!! Worst vocal acting I
heard, an actor yelling in my ear "AFLACK". Like that stupid duck on
the insurance commercial. As we proceeded through the house, past the
ultra neato padded wall room, I could definity smell something (I
knew what it was, but was keeping it from my sister, heheheheheh) and
hear that constant screech of the dental drill. I music in the house
I have to make special note of. Great use of that calming Muzak type
stuff that they use to calm the patients. Nice touch. The dental
drill room was gross. Was that teeth chips flying about? I'm really
sensitive about my teeth and this worked for me. Next, what can I say
about the bathroom. YIKES!!!! I like the fact that Universal wants to
be over the top, but this was really gross! The sprayed feces were
bad enough but that stench, oh my god! My eyes actually glazed over
and I started to gag. I have a very weak gag reflex and this almost
made me lose my lunch. It actually made me think twice about doing
the house again. Everytime the two of us talked about it a look would
come over my face and I would shiver. I did end up going back through
again, only this time it ended up as the "Shady filming incident".
Not at all as enjoyable for good reasons. I really liked this house.
Gotta give extra props to the girl who was laying in a corner
convulsing. That put such a real feeling to whatever room that was. I
made sense too. Patients with no medications. High marks for Psycho
Scarapy. Along with All Night DrIvE In, truly great examples of what
Universal is capable of. And exploding toilets for Shady!!!!! I just
don't know how they continue to serve food in the JP Discovery
center with theat horrid stench. We could smell it outside during the
day as we walked by.
