Pink Rabbits
For anyone who might be thinking of laying out £550 to £700 for a pink rabbit having watched Granada Reports on Thursday evening, please don’t.
Andrea Winders of Warrington Pink Ladies “taxis” looked decidedly uncomfortable during the interview, which is not surprising as the BBC disclosed today that the person behind the business was a convicted scam merchant who had just been released from jail having served a four year sentence for fraud. The BBC also found that the qualifications and claims of the veterinary experts were completely bogus. Their web site was closed down the following day.
The report said that the whole affair was nothing more than a scam and a cheap publicity stunt by a Warrington “taxi” company.
My advice is to visit Spec Savers and get a pair of pink tinted shades for about a tenner. Then everthings in the pink!

Re: Pink Rabbits
Hi Bill, I'm confused (okay, I know that's not unusual) but I heard this story on the radio news and it mentioned this guy was trying to flog so called pink rabbits but the rabbit breeders (I thought the rabbits had got the hang of it themselves!) said there was no such breed as a pink rabbit and it was just another con by the guy. But there was no mention of 'taxis', pink or otherwise. Is the taxi company involved, if so were they aware it was a con or have they been conned themselves ?
People might get the wrong idea if you wear pink shades, unless you're really Elton John
You obviously didn't see the TV interview then John.
Andrea Winders was one of the founders of the Pink Ladies "taxis" and much of the interview was conducted with one of their cabs as the backdrop.
The report I heard was on Radio 4 points of view in the afternnon. I can't recall whether they said she was just acting as the spokesperson for Pink Rabbits or if she was directly involved with it.
Re: Pink Rabbits
I heard a R4 piece and it seems Company Directors have been prosecuted for fraud in the past. A vet giving information on the rabbits is not a registered vet. Spokespeople for th company wont speak..
