Once Upon a Time
There was a cheerleader (at an all-women's college, mind you) who lived with a street punk. The street punk played a lot of video games. One time, he bought Final Fantasy Tactics Advance. The cheerleader asked "How can you spend so much money on such a tiny thing like that?" She always said "Video games are for losers. God, go out and get some sunshine or something."

One beautiful spring day, the street punk handed his cheerleader girlfriend his GameBoy with a copy of Shining Soul in it. She developed hand cramps after two days of playing... because she played for two straight days.

Well, after she beat all 300 missions and the 9 judge missions on Final Fantasy Tactics/Advance, the street punk suggested that they pick up "World of Warcraft." She balked "You mean it's fifty bucks AND you have to pay fifteen bucks for every month? What a waste!"

That fall, she gave up cheerleading for several alts and a 60 rogue. She traded in the uniform for 2 pieces of Shadowcraft (so far) and a Krol Blade.

I hope that was moderately humorous. It's not like I'm inexperienced in nerd-dom (i grew up with a 45' radio tower in my backyard. every member of my family has a ham radio license. i learned to type on a commodore 64 at about the same time as i learned to read.) This is, however, my first MMORPG.

So far, Baast (a level 20 shammy) is the first inductee from my account in AF, and I really like the environment. The other two will follow shortly - I'll explain in-game, it's a bit obnoxious to do so on a message board.

Lessee. I don't ninja, I don't grief, and I avoid rolling on stuff if I honestly don't need it, think that someone else needs it more, or already got something that's too good to be true. In fact, I feel incredibly guilty if I win a roll against someone who also needs something. But I think AF is an environment where your collective practicality can alleviate some of my Catholic guilt.

The BF is wonderful, and maybe you'll see him around, but he is done with guilds for awhile.

I've got two cats that I can't shut up about. Chaos, the big one, has a penchant for jumping on my lap and blocking the keyboard during raids. The little one likes to bite my feet during crucial moments. (Most of the time, she's "Bittens," she's also "Prima" for Chaos prime and "Kelly" for R. Kelly, to commemorate how she peed on the BF's Temperpedic mattress pad and ruined it.)

Anyway, that was convoluted and didn't answer any questions... but if you have any, just post a response and I'll try this again when I haven't been staring at a screen for so long :)

Haha! I like her already! With a sense of humor like that I think you'll fit in just fine with AF :)
