New Eden

New Eden was the name of the Colony world that under attach by The Demon Clan Pirates. By the time the Pirates were routed, most of the population had been decimated. Phantom was one of the small group of people that were considered Heroes by the people of New Eden. The Surviving Monarch of New Eden, with the backing of the population, granted land and titles to those Heroes.
Phantom was knighted and given the title of Duchess. She has all the power and the lands that goes with that ranking. There are only a handful of others that out rank her. The area she rules over is called Huntington and is the equivalent size of Australia, Earth.

Huntington is about the size of Australia, Earth, but that is where the similarities end. There is a rather large mountain range, named the Howling Rockies, that takes up about 1/8 of the area. One Quarter of the land is pastoral and the rest is forests. Tourism is big in the Mountain areas, with skiing and winter activities available year round. Farming and breeding are occupations in the Pastoral lands. The Forest are divided up into several sections. The prime section being national parks and reserves. Secondary is the Hunting lands. They are open to the public and also a source of income with guided hunting expeditions being offered.
The Military division is the main source of training for the New Eden Military. Phoenix Medical is the leader in the medical field on New Eden, and an growing force to be watched galaxy wide. The Mining Division is located off planet, in the asteroid belt and some of the other planetary bodies that inhabit the New Eden Galaxy. The Design and Technology division is responsible for many of the new mining equipment that has recently come out on the market. No other information is available at this time.

The New Eden Military
Ground side
The New Eden Military Fleet is small but growing. They patrol the Haven Galaxy to keep an eye on things. Ground side the New Eden military is made up of 3 branches. The Marines, the Navy and the Army. While they are considered small by most standards, they are a force to be reckoned with. They learned a Hard lesson when the Demon Clan Pirates took over New Eden for nearly two years.
The Navy branch mostly deals with problems that arise on the oceans of New Eden. It is the smallest of the 3 branches.
The Army acts as both Military and Local Law Enforcement. Due to the small population of New Eden, the Army Personal are spread out evenly throughout the various Fiefdoms. The Elite of the Army are called Rangers. They are specialized in guerilla warfare and Deep Forest Maneuvers.
The Marines cover all other bases. From air support to deep space combat. If neither the Army nor the Navy can deal with a problem, call in the Marines.
Of the World Population of 500,000 roughly 50,000 are military personal.
Most Cities, towns, villages, and other population centers have volunteer Guards that train regularly and can be called upon in an emergency.

A Map of the Planet
I had forgotten about an old world map I had created for a D&D game I was going to do at one time. I found it again and have decided to use it for the map of New Eden. As soon as I've finished scanning and updating it, I'll post it for everyone to see *G*
