After a false start and much thrashing and beating at my computer, I finally got a joystick to work. Vicar and I flew on CSq's server from drome B5.
I quickly remembered why I decided to get rid of my Logitech and buy a Thrustmaster...damn stick has no calibrate option and it's centerposition points the nose slightly up....deadly in a Sopwyth as it causes stalls in flat turns.
Vicar won the first round handily...tried to follow him through the flat turns and ended up blowing E and losing alt. After getting close to the ground and getting shot up I couldn't recover.
Second round I won. I thought my main problem with flat turns was with the stick. I was wrong. I tried to compensate for the stick (which I did) but soon discovered that Vicar knew how to take the turns much better than I. I just couldn't keep up with him in flat turns and we were even in the inclined turns. He flew that well and a couple times i thought I had lost it. I ended up sticking to the vertical which brought him down.
Third round I also won. With my knowledge that I could manipulate the vertical to my advantage I stuck with it. Tripes LOVE to loop so that's what I did. Eventually I nickled-and-dimed him enough to damage his wings and he couldn't seem to keep altitude with me or loop quite as tight as me. The match ended shortly after.
Good match. Most enjoyable (even the first round).

Yes...it was a thoroughly enjoyable fight. I think I was lucky to take the first of the three, though...I just managed to get in a few well-placed rounds that slowed Nemo down enough so that I could stay ahead of the game. The second and third fights were all his...I was totally bested in the vertical department -- partly due to my timidity in looping, bu mostly due to my opponent's skill!
A great match, all around -- I really enjoyed it! My parachute performed admirably, as well!
