My Mimian Culture
I decided to work on my version of Mimian culture just two nights a go. This is what I have so far.
The cites are very large cone shaped towers that are up to 200 feet each. Travel is almost exclusive to air using flying veicles powered a crystal energy source. Because of the cities being built up and travel being done in the air the planet has many lush jungle like areas.
The Mimians have developed uses for there unique vocalizations beyond communication. Many doors are opened useing a specific tone and appliances and veicles are activated by others.
Music is very important to Mimians. They have no instruments only their voices. Families often gather in the evening to sing together.
Children with exceptional singing talents are chossen to be in city chorus. Auditons are held annually and judged by the chorus leaders. Applicants range from six to ten.
Also an annual event is the very best of the city choruses being chossen to be in the planetary chorus. This selection is done in the same way as city's.
Roughly 300 of our years ago the Mimians discover long term space travel and send an exploration team out. They found Earth and thus began our first relationship with alien life.
I will be writing more latter. What does everyone, especailly Detia, think so far.

I only have a few more little tibits for now.
A popular form of art amonst the Mimians would look very simliar to our modern sculpture. The one difference is the multi colored gas flowing throught oddy shaped glass-like tubes and chambers. The gas is contantly changing so you never see the same color arrangement twice. The gas lasts for about a thousand years.
Each city has it's own colors. The citizens wear only the colors of their city. It's like saluting our flag to them.
When the Mimians came in contact with Earth communication was virtually imposible. As a delegation was on Earth slowly learning sign lauguage Mimian scientists were developing a translator. Soon a speaker like device was avalable for Mimians and Humans to speak through. The Human's speach would come out as the tones and hums of Mimian and vise versa.

Hey does any one think they have a military branch and what sort of fleet do you guys think they have? I sort of figured the cruisers would have some sort of lanch bay with no pilots and a grand centrel hall to do a chorse to make the fighters fly and fight.

I like that idea. I would imagine the planetary chorus would 'pilot' the fighter ships.
On another note, the Copper Kidd could be originally from the planetary chorus.
