Musical Improv and SET
Just thought I would toss out an idea ot two regarding spicing up the SET.
I know there are a few people who are interested in musical improv and I also know how entertaining it can be.
Maybe one week, the SET could have a "musical wheel" where those SC castmembers and students who have an interest in performing could either play a few different musical games, or even stretch out and try some musical longform.
If enough time is given, I am sure someone could arrange for some musicians to provide music. Or, even just someone who knows there way around a keyboard.
Any thoughts?
Re: Spicing up the S.E.T.
I know, I know...I love the SET, but I am on a crusade to open the eyes to the joys of a good step out musical or piano bar scene...the thrill of watching an improviser with a karaoke machine rewrite a popular song's lyrics into something sick and twisted.....the awe inspiring, heart rending feeling that sweeps over the crowd as Paul bursts into his patented high falseto!
Excuse me for a monet..I need some kleenex..*sniff, sniff*

I thought Velvet Tom worked and did a great job to break-up the SET 'routine'....Paul and I are both working on musical sketches and JZ and I are playing with some interpretive jazz improv comedy.
Of course, the cruise-ship lounge band could strike at any time.
