Music YOU Love
I thought we could use a place to rant and rave about anything music. So post your likes and disklikes, cd recommendations, music news, concert updates and reviews... whatever your heart desires!

I'll start... I am seeing Staind in concert tomorrow. It should be a good time. Their new cd is really great. You should check it out!

Other cds I'm listening to a lot lately:
Train, "Drops of Jupiter"
David Gray, "Lost Songs" (you HAVE to buy this cd!)
Stabbing Westward (Self-titled)
Our Lady Peace, "Spiritual Machines"
Dave Matthews Band, "Everyday"
Poe, "Haunted"

Jenn I love the new Staind song. The concert should be great. I am also really into the new Eve 6 song "Here's To The Night"

But...the songs I am really obsessed with at the moment are Catie Curtis' "Troubled Mind" and N'Sync's "Dirty Pop"

Re: Music YOU Love
I've never heard Catie Curtis.
I do love "Here's to the Night" by Eve 6 too!

I'm excited for the concert. I saw Staind a couple of years ago on The Family Values tour and they were really good. And I love "It's Been Awhile" too.

The song I am currently most obsessed about is "I Remember" (it inspired FanArt even!) on Stabbing Westwards new cd. I can't believe how mellow this cd is compared to their past releases. I swear I've had this song on repeat since I bought the cd yesterday!

"I Remember"

Do you ever wonder where we would be...
If we had tried a little harder?
It seems like yesterday...
That we were making plans for the future
But it's been so long since I have more of the dreams...
Those dreams we left up-ended
And I'm haunted by your face
And the memory of your kisses... sweet kisses

Do you remember?
I still remember so much
I remember never feeling so alive
Do you remember?
I still can't forget your touch
We swore that we would never end
We knew our love transcended space and time

Those memories slip away
The ghost of what we were is fading
But there is no more pain,
Which is funny 'cause that night
I was dying... I was dying
Now I don't even recognize the girl...
I swore that someday I would marry
But I can't forget her face
And I can't forget her kisses... sweet kisses

Do you remember?
I still remember so much
I remember always feeling so alive
Do you remember?
I still can't forget your touch
We swore that we would never end
We knew our love transcended space and time

Do you remember?
I still remember so much
I remember never feeling so alive
Do you remember?
I still can't forget her touch...
Or how we swore that we would never be alone

Everyone should vote at www.dawsonscreekmusic.com for the Season 4 Music Awards..i dontknow if it was mentioned yet. But I know I can count no you guys to vote for the good PJ songs :)

I just dl-ed David Greys "This Years Love" (iknow i know i shouldve had it by now) and Im currently still obsessed with that one. I also still love Jessica Andrews "I Will Be There For You" from the S3 finale.

Also, "Givin Up On You" and "I THink Im In Love With You" will probably be played in season 5 huh? I dunno if i like that :(

Re: Music YOU Love
The concert was great fun! It was FREEZING though! It rained off and (mostly) on all day. It's never this cold in May! We were in the lower pavillion, but close to the side, and the wind was blowing in our direction. It was insane. Before Staind came out, it finally stopped raining and there was a double rainbow in the sky. It was cool. :D

Nonpoint, Nickelback, and Oleander were all good, but Staind was the best. I was disappointed because they didn't even play an hour and they were the headlining band! They opened with Mudshovel, which was crazy. And it was all nice when they did Outside and It's Been Awhile. I was a little mad because they didn't do Just Go. And I wanted to hear Epiphany (froom the new cd), but they didn't do it. They only did one song in an encore, and it was a cover of an old NWA song. It was cool though because the lights came up before the encore so a ton of people left. We were able to get up to the 3rd row for the final part of the concert. We had been moving up all day. With the rain, the bands kept telling everyone to move farther into the pavillion, so I was up close most of the day. At one point, I actually made it to the fence at the very front of the stage, but between bands, the damn security made everyone clear out. Oh, and nearly broke my foot climbing over the rows of chairs. Whoops. :lol

I am with you on Train...i d-l and burned it this week and i love it! i am still listening to tara mclean, after re-watching "cinderella story" and "neverland" and reliving better p/j days! i think "dry land" sets up the coming storm brewing between pacey and joey so well in that ep. the song actually is really sad, but it gives the feeling that something is going to change...

music...
Drops of Jupiter is definitely a favourite song right now... I hated it at first, all my friends loved it and whenever it came on in the car I begged them to change it... I couldn't bare listening to it. Then I heard it on the promos for Dawson's Creek... I got chills... and I've loved it ever since. It's funny how DC can change something like that, eh? :)

As for any other music... DMB is by FAR my favourite band! Gosh, I absolutely adore their music and I refer to Dave as "the master of my music, my mind, and my soul"... yeah yeah I'm a crazy woman! Anyway, they had 2 concerts here in WI last summer... I couldn't get tickets for them. I had been looking forward to the announcement of their summer tour all winter, and when it finally comes out I found out that the closest they play is in Chicago, which is about 3 hrs away. Ugh! My mom would never let me drive that far with a friend to go to a DAVE concert! I hate talking about it!! I'm sooo upset about it! Anyway, that's my current music status ;)

Bob Marley is the King of my summer... it's been a tradition for me to listen to him non-stop during the summer months, it makes me feel a little more in sync with the Caribbean nations ;)

Lots of Love!

Re: music...
Heathyr - The closest place DMB is playing for me is Chicago too! He usually plays 3 nights in Indy. I was so mad when I heard he wasn't coming here! But it turns out his wife is expecting TWINS in early September and one of the other band member's wife is expecting a baby in late September, so that's the main reason they cut the tour short this year. They were on Leno last week. I love The Space Between... and the video is beautiful. *sigh*

Wow, thanks for the DMB update, Jenn. It's weird that I was unaware of that! I was looking forward to the concert, they've come to Wisconsin every year in what seems like forever! They are playing July 6th and 7th in Chicago, so it wouldn't have been too tough to get tickets, but that was just out of the question :rolleyes It's just not fair!

Well.... she hasn't been played on DC yet but I'm obsessed w/ Janet Jackson's new CD "All for You". It has not left my CD player yet. I'm going to see her in concert in August @ Madison Square Garden in NY! I cannot wait!!! :rollin

I'm also feelin' Eve's song w/ Gwen Stefani "Blow your Mind". The beat is so catchy and I love Eve's image. She has a style all her own.

Ok- I'm going to go vote for all PJ songs at dawsonscreek.com! I wouldn't be able to show my face here if I didn't! ;)

Re: Music YOU Love
I sort of like that Eve song with Gwen. I don't mind No Doubt. I have a problem with Gwen though... mainly because she is dating my future husband, Gavin Rossdale. You have to understand... I have been obsessed with him since the first time I saw the video for Everything Zen back in 1994. Long before she entered the picture! I've seen Bush in concert like 7 times. I've stalked and met Gavin. He is MINE! So, that's why she makes me mad. :lol

I will post my pictures of Gavin sometime. I'll have to upload them to my homestead account. He is so yum.

Yesterday, I bought David Gray's Sell, Sell, Sell that was recently released in the U.S. It's his 3rd cd from 1996. As I expected, it's wonderful. I am going to have to break down and buy the imports of A Century Ends and Flesh. Imports are so expensive. It pains me to spend $30 on one cd!

Here is one of the pictures I took of my Gavin on April 17th, 1997. A day that will live in my mind forever! :D

This is the only one I already had scanned. I'll maybe have to scan the others sometime.

Re: Music YOU Love
I listen to a lot of different music but I mostly listen to bands no one else likes. Like my all time favorite - Duran Duran.
Then I also like Depeche Mode, Robbie Williams, New Order, and R.E.M.

Jenn, I'm going to see Depeche Mode soon and Poe is their opener. I haven't heard much by her so I don't know what to expect. Have you ever seen her? Stabbing Westward was with them last year, and I didn't like them.
That's cool about getting up close at the Staind concert. I got 2nd row center for a concert last year and then 1st row center at another in March and now I can't stand being far back!

Re: Music YOU Love
I like Stabbing Westward... I've met them too. :lol Their older stuff is a lot darker. I'm really surprised at how mellow the new album is.

I saw Poe back in like 1996. Her first cd "Hello" is great. You might remember songs like "Angry Johnny" and "Trigger Happy Jack." Her latest cd, "Haunted" is also great. Her song "Hey Pretty" was played in Great Xpectations. The radio version (at least the one here) is nothing like the track on the cd. I don't know what that radio crap is... on the cd, she sings the entire song. I love her music though. She was great in concert back when I saw her, and I didn't really know her music at the time.

There's a song on her new cd called "Not A Virgin" and I wish it had been playing in Admissions when Joey told Dawson she sexxed Pacey. "I'm not a virgin anymore... I just thought you should know!" :lol

Re: Music YOU Love
Ah, Duran Duran. How I loved them. Depeche Mode too. I was almost with you Zorak, until you mentioned Robbie Williams. That's one person I wouldn't mind punching in the face.

Jenn, you actually like DMB's new CD? I was pretty disappointed that the only song I really liked was 'I Did It' and 'The Space Between'. With his other CDs, I could listen to the whole thing, especially Crash and Before These Crowded Streets. I haven't listened to Everyday since I bought it, and that was when it first came out. I really hope to God that when I see him at Giants Stadium, he'll play mostly old stuff. I think he sold out.

I'm listening to a lot of Radiohead nowadays. A lot. My friend made me a mp3 CD with all five of their albums on it, including their new one, Amnesiac (it's being released today as a matter of fact). So that CD is basically all I've been listening to for the past couple of weeks. My sig is part of a verse from their song 'Climbing Up The Walls', and at FF, I have part of the chorus. But I might have to change my sig, my sucka bitches and I are having a malenky (anyone ever read--or see--A Clockwork Orange? Good book. Good movie) bit of a war with some people at FF.

That Eve/Gwen Stefani song is hot. I love Eve and I love Gwen. They looked like they had fun doing it.

I've also been listening to the latest DJ Clue CD, but I doubt any of you know anything about that. Maybe my fellow New Yorker Kim has. Have you, Kim? And what do you use to download songs too, btw? My Napster doesn't work for me anymore.

Lessie - I like the new DMB alright. I mean, it's not as good as Under the Table, but then, what is? I am still annoyed DMB isn't coming here this summer. Anyway... the songs I like most on Everyday are "When the World Ends," "The Space Between," "Angel," and "Everyday."

I am buying tickets for Sugar Ray on Saturday. And it's at a place that's all general admission. I love the new Sugar Ray song. I can't wait to get the cd next week! :)
