In Character

Name: Marcus Flint

Age: 22

Gender:Male

Residence: Current: Hogwarts, Before: Flat in London

Blood: Pureblood (Assumed?)

Wand: Blackthorne, 10 inches, Dragonheart String

Occupation: Defense Against The Dark Arts Teacher, before this however, he was well on his way to becoming an Auror for the Minstry of Magic. However, due to certain circumstances (*see history) he was rejected for the part, and instead chose to take a stab at teaching, and soon part time member of the Order Of The Phoenix.

Appearance: (Avatar Christian Bale) Upon seeing Marcus Flint people tend to believe he might actually have some troll blood in him. It's not exact look that makes people believe that, it's his sheer size. Standing about six foot three inches, Flint has a very intimidating look about him. Very finely muscled, from his Quidditch Playing days, Flint keeps himself as much in shape as he can. His facial features are nothing special, and he generally makes people look away rather than stare. His hair is dark, and cropped unevenly short (as if he took a hack at it himself). His eyes are dark gray, almost appearing black at times. His nose is a little long, off center, and crooked. Flint's mouth is constantly turned down to show off a constant frown. His face is always broody, and it makes him appear much older than he actually is.

The way he walks reflects his personality perfectly. Marcus Flint walks with a bit of slouch, his eyes staring at everyone around him as if anyone made the wrong move he would curse them in an instance. He had never been one to really pay attention to his posture, thus creating the horrible one that he has. When he's sitting, he tends to look surlier than he ever does. He'll slouch in his chair as far down as he can, and glare at everyone around him.

Flint harbors no sense for fashion. His robes usually are usually black, or some kind of dark color. Flashy robes distaste him in every way, and he will avoid them at all costs. No one will ever catch him wearing muggle clothing, as he finds them distasteful, and if he ever had too he'd definately look strangely because he, like so many other wizards, haven't a clue what is proper to wear on a normal day for muggles.

Personality: His personality reflects his appearance perfectly. Marcus is broody, surly, and generally an unfriendly person, yet he's one that you just can't help but love. when a person first approaches Marcus Flint, they most likely can't help but be put off by the grumpy air that he emits. And yes, while he is generally a grumpy individual, there is also so much more to him. While he'll generally make an appearance of being unapproachable, Marcus is a very caring person underneath it all. He cares about the people that can manage to get close to him. While he will not gnerally go through great lengths to protect those he loves, he will go through some, but other times he'll just prefer to save his own skin. Back in his Hogwarts years, he was very rude to just about everyone in order to keep them away from him, he's slowly beginning to grow out of that as he matures.

When something goes wrong, and it's his fault, Marcus will brood over it for the longest time. He has a very big sense of self loathing, and definately does not think much about himself. If someone compliments him, he'll dismiss it as them being insane and leaves it at that. He enjoys having his own opinion of himself, and will absolutely refuse to change his view. Which leads to the next part. He is stubborn and hardheaded as a bull. Once he makes up his mind about something, it's next to impossible to budge him from it. It's almost like attempts to pull a horse to a place it definately doesn't want to go. He'll fight you the entire way. Behind his moodiness, Marcus is a fairly generous person, and can be quite funny.

History: Marcus Flint was born to Warren and S'Rea Flint. The first son between the two and he was a bit of a delight. Marcus was one of those babies that rarely cried, save for necessary ones, and was usually seen glaring around at everything. His peronality had showed through even as a small child. Flint was a anti-socialable towards the other children of the neighborhood, and just about everyone else. It worried S'Rea that he son was acting this way, but she remained on loving him no matter what. Warren worked his best to try and open up the boy, even to him, but Marcus remained a firmly closed shell.

Marcus' first hint at magic came when he was about four, when he threw a temper trantrum after his parents had brought home his baby sister. He caused several objects to fly across the room. While it thrilled his family to know that their son had, indeed, picked up on their magical abilities, it didn't change the fact that they had to scold him just a bit for his tantrum. Unknowing that soon they would have to scold him for much worse later. Flint seemed to take a weird pleasure out of torturing his sister in someway or another. Whether he'd sit there and poke her with a hard, blunt, object until she cried, or else he was usually caught forcing his baby sister into a dangerous situation. One such was him olding Leslie over the edge of the shed, claiming to his horrified parents that if she were a magical witch, then she could fly. However, after some coaxing, Marcus withdrew that, and carried his sister down from the high place. He handed her, screaming, to S'Rea, and was punished by Warren.

After a while, if appeared that Marcus was beginning to harbor a dislike for his father. Not because the man actually did anything, but in Flint's mind, he preferred Leslie over himself. Who wouldn't though? Leslie was a bright little girl, who could easily charm her way into, or out of, any situation that was laid before her. Often times, even Marcus, himself, found himself giving into the little girls smile.

Relief came to him in the form of a letter when he was eleven. He'd been accepted to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Marcus had seemed like he couldn't wait to get there, to get away from his little sister who seemed more upset about her brother leaving than he did. She'd come to appreciate their time appart after a while. Marcus Flint's first year, was rather uneventful, as were many of the others that followed it. At some point he joined the Quidditch Team as a Chaser, and eventually worked his way up to being Quidditch Captian on his sixth year, when Harry Potter, as well as his sister, started their first year. That year annoyed the hell out of him when Oliver Wood was able to break the rules and enlist a first year onto the Gryffindor House team as a seeker. Gryffindor seemed to pound Slytherin then, and it only infuriated him more.

After his seventh year, Harry and Leslie's second year, Marcus was bludgeoned with the news that he'd failed all his NEWTS and would need to repeat the seventh year. This of course, cause much teasing from many of his so called 'friends' at the Slytherin table. He managed to get through that year rather easily that time, most focused on teasing Potter about his apparent fear of the Dementors, even going as far to dress up as one at a match of Gryffindor vs. Ravenclaw (I believe it was that one), only to have Harry shoot a silver light at him, and cause him to knock himself on the ass.

After he graduated, he leaned strongly on Professor Snape to allow his sister to be the new captian. While Marcus hated the idea of allowing a girl on his team, Leslie was just as skilled a Quidditch player as he had been. After that, Marcus applied for his job to be an Auror. After many testing, and checks into his background, the Ministry rejected his application for the fact that he'd had a mark on his official record in the past of using some magic on a muggle while he was underage. He only had one warning, but it was enough to get his application rejected. Frusterated, and annoyed that he failed to get a job, Marcus turned around and went back to the one place he'd hoped to get away from. Perhaps he could act as an assistant to that idiot Hagrid.

Luck came to him, for Leslie was coming into her Seventh year, Mcgonagall took pity on the jobless Flint, and was also desparate for a D.A.D.A teacher, so he was hired as a teacher, but was told she would keep an eye on him. However, Marcus also expressed interest in joining the Order Of The Phoenix as well, at least part time..

Pet: He owns a Crup. A jack russel looking dog that has a forked tail. It's very loyal to wizards, but completely horrible to muggles.
