Man the SET is just booking along.
Remember when the SET would have 4 acts in a night and it would end around 11:45?? Then we were told they would be cutting one act out so it would end sooner? Guess what time it ended last night. 11:45! I know the opening act only took 30 minutes. And the "extended" roulette was only 4 games. What the hell took so long last night? Was there some kind of time warp that made us jump forward in time? Did we attend the Bizzaro SET?

Re: Man the SET is just booking along.
Well, lets see if we can do simple math...

SET start time: Scheduled for 9:30PM. Thats never the case, let's be generous and say 9:45P

9:45p + 30 min (Act 1) = 10:15p

10:15p + 30 min (Wheel / Roulette) = 10:45p

10:45p + 15 min (Intermission) = 11:00p

11:00p + 30 min (Featured Players) = 11:30p

Let's throw in 15 min for announcements.
11:30p + 15 min = 11:45p

And there's your magic number. Of course all calculations have been performed with a +/- 5% error or one standard deviation from the mean.

Tune in next week where I will be breaking down the human genome using simple stoichiometry and a pixie stick diagram.

waaah...
Mike, I love how you come on here and complain. Do you not see the differences we are trying to make? If I remember right, half the changes we've made are things you wanted to see. The past few S.E.T.s have ended pretty early. Instead of complaining about the time it ended, why doesn't someone compliment Brandon on being the first non-cast member to host the night... and host it AWESOMELY in my opinion? :rollin :rollin :rollin

Great job Brandon! You kicked ass!

Congrats to the Advanced Class for doing all great performances so far. Probably one of the strongest student troupes we've EVER had!

Pat on the back to Scriptless last night for trying some new techniques. It may not be recognized, but I'm proud of my team none the less.

Brandon!
Brandon was doing stand-up bits between, Mike. That's what took so long.
Although, I left after his first bit, so what do I know?

But can you two at least agree on one thing: You both (heart) the S.E.T. and want to see it succeed. Agreed?

So quit yer bickerin. You're both awesome guys with handsome faces that I don't want to see get all banged up in a bar fight after S.E.T. one of these days.

Be cool. Just be cool. :smokin <--- Like this guy.

Re: Brandon!
Brandon did indeed rock. It was worth the time it took.

Although, I left before Roulette, so what do I know?

Re: Brandon!
First, I wasn't really complaining! I just thought it was kind of funny. I brought my Aunt for the first time to the SET. And right before we went, she asked what time it ended. I told her it used to end around 11:45 but they've been cutting it down lately. So of course, it ended at 11:45. I just thought it was funny because it didn't seem like it went that long! I'm not complaining. Shit, I'd like it if it could go all night. It's not like I have anything to do in the morning. If you ask me, start it at 8 and go all night. I just thought it was funny because my Aunt and I discussed it right before. Just so you know, she freakin loved the whole thing. Thinks everyone is brilliant.

Second, Brandon did do a great job! Hopefully, you allow other people to sign up a chance to host. I know alot of people, myself included, would love to give hosting a try.

Third, I LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE the fact the scriptless cast is trying new forms. I think it would be even cooler if before or after the show you explained what the long form was so we could learn the proper term for it. But keep doing new stuff, it's totally recognized and uber-appreciated.

Fourth, I can't comment on the advanced class as I'm in it. But we started with 9 and we're down to 6. I feel like it's Improv Idol. Oh well, next week is the last week. But thanks for the laughs.

Fifth, I think the SET is doing awesome. I think I've told Josh and others involved personally how much I like the changes but I haven't on here. But I should have. And I'm sorry you thought I was just bitching on here but I wasn't. I meant it when I said the SET is just booking along. I was legit suprised when we got out and it was 11:45PM. Keep doin what you're doin.

Re: SET booking along
YEA! Um, I wanted to reply and stuff, but then I realized that I'm not allowed out anymore with my car being broken and my new position at work and the new gf. Time is a tricky thing. I guess that's the point of this whole thread so maybe I'm trying to make sense in a roundabout kind of way. Or maybe not. Maybe I'm just on lunch break and can't leave the office so I have nothing better to do but type a bunch of words on the screen and piece them all together to form one of the best internet blogs ever created. Of course, if my company didn't block myspace I would go blog on there. But I don't have time for that when I get home so I just go there and see what everyone else has done with their lives for the day and then I contemplate. So anyway, me and this one dude where talking on this one day and we got to saying - "Hey, wouldn't it be sooooo awesome if there was like a competition and the competition was who could write the best sketch show in a 48 -72 hour period." So basically we get 10 people to sign up and dedicate a weekend to this 'project' and then on friday / saturday night teams are randomly assigned and then you have until the SET on that monday to perform a 30 minute sketch show. Both teams compete and the audience votes. Best team wins.... a BROWNIE! Cause I love brownies, yum. Or something else, maybe... A SECOND CITY DAY PLANNER! You get the idea. I probably should have posted this somewhere else, but I'm sure one of the other admins on the site will edit it if this thing actually catches on. If not, I'll just go back to working... stupid work. I hate you work.

That's a splendid idea! Very SNL-esque. I love it. The weekend would have to be no sleep, all caffeine and Krispy Kremes though.

Re: :(
Hopefully that 48 hour writing show will happen. I already asked the powers that be for a date. I don't know why Enrico thought it was to be a competition but that's not the case. At least not as of yet. But it should be fun if the SET people allow it to happen.

Why? Because Enrico is a fighter. Enrico will go toe-to-toe with any improviser. Throw down and let's go fisticuffs. After all improv isn't about entertainment, it's about making yourself look good on stage. You think Rocky Balboa became the greatest improviser to ever live by having friendly get togethers? Nuh uh. You have to be willing to kill the other improvisers on stage if you must. Crotch shots are encouraged even in certain venues.

After all, without competition we would all be a bunch of vegetable eating hippies sitting around in circles near a bonfire playing schwing-bong. I fight for the betterment of our society. And to get rid of the evil doers. Evil doers are evil and that's why they're evil because they're evil doers, as the name suggests. Fisticuffs!

That's funny, because I fight for the right to sit around a bonfire and play schwing bong or hackey sack.

If there is to be a competition, then Enrico is out. He scares me. I don't want to be scared by my competition. I'm a handshake, may the best man win, every body play hard, kind of competitior. I love Enrico Fermini and I want you to love him too.
