Magazine Assignments Writing Assignments Note: Everyone must submit their work directly to Jenn tristy52@yahoo.com for initial editing. Some sections will have a second editor assigned to them. This is the person you send your work to once Jenn has done a technical grammar/spelling check. This person will make suggestions and help you with content. It is up to you whether or not you except all of these suggestions in the end, but please try to keep an open mind. Once this is done, you do a final re-write and submit your work to me EvieOCon@aol.com. I will then pass it on to our Senior Editor, Shannon G. She will make the final edits. And what she says goes. Like I said before not all sections will be assigned a second editor. Some sections that require submissions from fans... well, the person assigned to the section will be acting as editor. Like Kim for personal stories. **Indicates section that requires second editing. Re: Magazine Assignments Hey all, Glad things are underway Just a couple things... Deadlines? Maybe I'm just missing where they're posted, but anyways, I know you guys want to get moving with this magazine, but just as a reference, when do you want rough drafts to start hitting the editors' e-mailboxes? Especially for those of us working on things with other people; we've got to coordinate schedules and things so we can get the stuff done on time. Also, I'm flattered that you assigned me to International Fans, and I'd love to work on it, I'm just not sure that I qualify as 'International' per se  I'm American, and I go to University in Canada (Not all that International ) So there really isn't a whole lot of difference with my DC watching except I got Season 4 on Thursday and Friday as opposed to Wednesdays, plus daily re-runs of seasons 1,2 and 3 in French. Just wanted to let you know that it's not as if I get the complete international experience of waiting and extra six months or something... Just let me know what you want to do ~Tricia |

Editing Assignments Editors find your assignments. Writers these are your 2nd editors. Get to know them. Love them. They will be helping you a great deal. Now when I mentioned that you would send your draft in to your 2nd editor after having it checked by Jenn, I did not mean that you were only allowed to send it once. You may send it back and forth as many times as you feel that is necessary for you to complete. More announcemnts Writing Teams and Writers: Find your partner's email address on the staff page and email them immediately. If you have trouble contacting the person and/or their email is not listed... Contact me asap. Also, I will be emailing a few individually on certain matters. Refer to the magazine outline for details on your section. Again, email me if you have any questions. Deadlines & Dates: *Note- The earlier you turn your assignments in the better! You do NOT have to wait until these dates before you turn them in. If you have your stuff ready this week, give it to Jenn! These dates below are the absolute final moments you can submit. For now anyway... Extensions may have to occur, but only if absolutely necessary. I can't hold up the magazine for one tiny article. Now - June 8th - Jenn will be reviewing any completed first drafts of your articles at this time for technical editing. Send your drafts to her here: tristy52@yahoo.com Jenn will be out of town from the 9th-13th. Cindy? will be picking up the slack for that time. See below. Re: More announcemnts Yeah, I can be 2nd Editor for FanArt/Poetry. Being repetitive... the earlier you can get these things to me the better. I just realized the deadline for initial editing is a day that I won't be around. I'm going to Florida from June 10-13, and I won't be back here until the evening of June 14th. So if you guys could get the bulk of your work to me by the 8th (I know that's rushing it), I would be able to spend most of that Saturday editing and getting it back to you. If not, could someone volunteer to edit (mainly checking for any grammatical and spelling errors) anything that would come in between June 9-13 so we don't get behind schedule? I'm really sorry about this! I didn't know my little trip would conflict with the deadline dates. The earlier the better is also good because I want to be able to spend a fair amount of time on each piece and be as accurate as possible. I'm worried that if I'm bombarded with like 50 things and only have one day to go through them all, I will probably be slightly overwhelmed.

Re: More announcemnts Okay, I just reread the deadlines. If you want, I guess you all could still send things to me while I'm out of town. Like I said, I'd be back on the 14th. I could start editing anything that came in while I was gone as soon as I get back and then spend most of that weekend editing anything that still needs to be edited. I would probably be able to get it all done sometime on Saturday. That would still give the 2nd Editors a few days to go over their pieces before the final draft deadline on Wednesday. Re: International section Leticia and Supna, Hopefully, Angie will be working with you. She lives in Costa Rica. What I'd like you to do is to go to the message boards or where ever you find fans who live outside of the US.. and basically write little short 100-200 word blurbs on different things like: -How popular Dawson's Creek is ... wherever -How many different cultures and languages actually know and love Pacey and Joey. -Then maybe just a few opinions from fans from different countries about Pacey and Joey. -You can add anything else you might want to write about as well.

Re: Website Reviews Kat, I would just pick the best of the best DC AND PJ sites. Basically PJ-Friendly sites, but regular DC sites are good too. You have to be able to fit all of your reviews onto ONE page. So, that should tell you how many you can do. I'd say maybe 10 or so. Thanks, Evie
