Keep Away
Ramsi scouts the area high above the Earth in his Taurus MS, watching the Slyph MS’s fly low to the ground. He dives suddenly, Talex igniting its Linear Saber. As he gets closer to the Earth, Ramsi sees the sleek design of the Slyphs, shinny and new. They had no feet, the first thing that catches his attention. They always seemed to be floating in the air, which would usually drain power faster then it could be produced. He makes a mental note of that.
The first Slyph gets slammed to the ground, then sliced up to metal scrap. The other three, ahead of the first, turn back to see their compadre die in a heap of metal. Ramsi charges and targets another of the Slyphs, linear saber heated up and ready for its next kill. The Slyphs split in different directions, two flying left and right, the other flying backwards. Ramsi follows the middle Slyph, barely able to keep up with it. These things are fast! Suddenly Ramsi’s MS stops completely, held back by something behind him. He sees as the other two Slyphs hold him back with two towlines from their arms. Ramsi spins around and cuts the lines with his Linear Saber, then heads back at the middle Slyph, obviously the leader of the group.
The Slyph keeps a good distance at all times, Ramsi not able to catch up with the speedy MS. The other two Slyphs begin to fire at him from his back with linear rifles concealed in their forearms. “FINE!” Ramsi yells in aggravation, turning around and unleashing his concealed buster rifle. He fires at the two Slyphs, the beam large enough to hit them both. As he turns to get the leader, he sees that there’s not a trace of that Slyph. He turns to go and pick up what’s left of the other two from his buster blast, but he finds nothing but charred earth. How the hell…?
Ramsi takes what’s left of the one Slyph he did defeat back to the Atlantis Corporation hanger, greeted by the president of the corporation, Eaan Olieander. “What’s this? I asked you to get one intact! Dammit, you think you’re getting paid for this?” he yells at Ramsi, showing his anger. Ramsi just leaves, not answering. He steals some scrap, something to get out of the mission.
