KEPPEL THROWS NO-HITTER
KEPPEL THROWS NO-HITTER FOR B-METS
Date: 8/2/2003
Bob Keppel threw the first complete-game no-hitter in regular season franchise history as the Binghamton Mets beat the Portland Sea Dogs 3-0 Saturday night in the Eastern League.
Keppel (7-2) walked three and struck out one over his nine innings for the Mets (54-60).
Mike Jacobs had a two-run single in the fourth inning off starter Ryan Cameron (2-1) to plate Ron Acuna and Rodney Nye.
Nye would then single to score Acuna in the eighth with the third Binghamton run.
Acuna had three hits for the Mets.
