Joplin MO mystery
I copied this from another board
A continuing article is in today's www.JoplinGlobe.com. tell's about a
farmer that has had cattle death's that are unexplained. The previous
articles told about a farmer in Carl Junction Mo, just north of Joplin in
the sw area of Mo. Between Oct2 and Nov 15th,2003 seven calves
and two cows were killed. The farmer reported that they had been run
to death and some parts eaten He then moved the rest of the herd to another location. ON Jan
31,2004 he found an unidentified dead calf in very nearly the same
place in his pasture as the other dead cattle. The farmer stated that the
dead calf was not owned by him. The farmer at one time took a shot at
something reddish brown in color. He stated that he thought it was a
bear. The farmer has since came to the conclusion that he is 99.9% sure
it was a cougar or similar animal. The Department of Conservation says
it was coyotes.(YEAH RIGHT). Another farmer reports that during the
during the Oct 2 occurrence or just before a predator attacked his
1600 lb.Angus bull, leaving claw marks on the head and back. The bull
survived but was a bloody mess. The Mo. Dept. of Conservation says it
was coyotes.(THEM BE SOME BAD PUPPIES.LOL) the farmer
now plans to purchase A llama &a donkey to protect his herd. Never
heard of coyotes or a cougar attacking a 1600lb healthy standing
animal.I wonder what is going to protect the llama and the donkey?
