Name: Ioan Caine Scotts
Age: 30; birthday is February 21

Residence: Hogwarts Castle (he lives there all year long because he teaches there.) Before he become a teacher, he lived in London by the Ministry.
Blood: Muggle-born
Wand: Ebony wood, fifteen inches, pheonix feather that is good for transfigurations.
Occupation: Transfiguration teacher of Hogwarts and serves as Gryffindor Head of House. Also used to work for Ministry of Magic first as an Auror but then in the Department of Mysteries. During those years, Dumbledore had asked him to join the Order of the Phoenix and therefore Ioan became a member of the Order. He was a former Auror for five years and also a former 'Unspeakable' for five years but quit after he heard that Dumbledore was killed to help with the Order and decided to help fill in the position of as Transfiguration teacher and Head of Gryffindor House. This would be Ioan's first year of working as a teacher for students.
Appearance: (Avatar is Ioan Gruffudd) Visual Preferance to Ioan Scotts (OMG IOAN GRUFFUDD IS SOOO HOT!!! *cough* sorry). Though Ioan Scotts has unusual features on his face, many consider Ioan to be good-looking and is, indeed, a girl magnet wherever he goes, for his unusual looks attract people. Ioan has a friendly and nice smile that is wide and flashes his perfectly aligned and perfectly white teeth. In his smile, Ioan has many long and thin dimples that make Ioan look slightly older than he is, but nonetheless more attractive. Ioan is not tanned, but not pale either and has the skin tone color that matches him perfectly, his skin is flawless without a single mark to mar his face but does have a few very small wrinkles to show his age, but aren't noticeable unless you look closely. Because Ioan is half English descent and half Australian descent, he has a long narrow, but thick nose and think lips. When his mouth is closed and in resting mode, the corner of his mouth curves up in a small smile, also another feature that makes him approachable for he doesn't have a stern face. He has a long, oval shaped face with high cheekbones and a square jaw line (which is very noticeable.) Ioan also has jet-black hair that is usually styled short (typical length of a man) and wavy on the top. Ioan doesn't necessarily do much with his hair, but he lets it fall into place. He has thin eyebrows with the same color as his hair and chocolate and caramel mixed oval-shaped eyes, which are warm and welcoming. Ioan also has small bags under his eyes to more indicate his age rather than his loss of sleep. Ioan is rather tall however, even for someone of his age and descent, for he is just about 6'5" though he's reached the end of his growing. Ioan also has a muscular body, nothing under toned, but not anything overdone, giving him a body that most women like.
Ioan is more preferable of clothing that is professional and rarely does Ioan walk outside the house looking like a slob. He makes extra sure that he leaves a good impression to people by wearing things that are slightly formal and nothing too casual. Ioan will most likely wear a suit to work, even during his Auror days and will most likely wear a lab coat during his lessons in Hogwarts. Ioan wore formal clothing even when he was younger because he wanted to wear something that made a good impression. However, if Ioan is tired, he will show up in something like shorts and a button-up shirt, which is something that's casual for him. Sometimes Ioan will also wear casual clothing that could pull off as something nice and formal. Ioan will also most likely wear a tuxedo to an occasion, but Ioan won't wear a suit to those occasions because he believes that a suit is too casual for any occasion such as ball, wedding or something like that. But when Ioan wants to take a rest, he likes to go clubbing in casual clothes and dances (Ioan loves to dance.) Ioan will just dress according to his mood as well, if he's in a foul mood, he usually dresses down in all black, but in a good mood he likes to keep up with appearances. Ioan likes to make that impression that most people wouldn't care about, this makes Ioan a little more special then most.
Ioan's hawk form looks just like any other red-tail hawk that you come across. But Ioan's hawk form is a little different from other real hawks, just as any animagus is. For one thing, he hawk is slightly bigger than a regular red-tail hawk and has different colorings than a regular hawk. Ioan's hawk form is usually colored brown, but if looked at closely, there is a patch of black coloring feathers that hovers over both eyes and therefore serves as sort of an eyebrows distinction which is the only way to tell Ioan from any other real hawks. The rest of Ioan is nothing unusual from a real read-tail hawk, for he has a burgundy red tail (thus the name of the animal) and has a wingspread for of about five feet. During Ioan's hawk form, Ioan can hear things and see things that normal wizards can't. And because of Ioan's flight ability, he can spy on anyone without being detected (unless by someone who's extremely powerful and knows Ioan very well) which comes in hand for his membership at the Order. No one quite knows about Ioan being an animagus besides Dumbledore and Minerva. Though most of the staff that Ioan trusts is most likely gong to be told by Ioan himself. Ioan also lets a few students know, though that is rare for Ioan to tell him of his hawk form, for it could be his weakness as well as his strong point.
Personality: To most who know Ioan Scotts, Ioan is a very open and laid-back kind of guy, but has the temper of a short fuse. Ioan is usually a friendly and lovable person who doesn't care about someone's reputation or anything. He only judges someone due to his experiences that he's had with that particular person. Ioan has this sort of aura around him that makes him approachable and though he isn't as wise as he'd like to be, many other people do considered him to be wise with things such as emotional problems like loosing someone they love, for he's had that experience before (just don't go to him about romantic advice!) Ioan also is very kind and caring to the people who he thinks is worth it. He's always willing to give someone the second chance if he feels that they've really changed their heart about something. Ioan believes in the best of people and simply refuses to see the bad in people and doesn't hold any sort of grudges against anyone, especially if they are directed toward him. But if that particular person hurts someone that Ioan truly cares about, Ioan will never forgive that person and may find life hard because they were at the receiving end of Ioan's wand. Ioan believes in openness and doesn't believe any good will come of being closed from the world or even friends. Because of this reputation, many people consider Ioan to be someone they are truly friends with, and Ioan is more than happy to regard the fact. Ioan is also extremely honest and believes that honesty and trustworthiness is the most important thing in the world, and if you lie to Ioan about something serious, that relationship is over and Ioan won't ever forgive you. Ioan is also extremely intelligent and so much so that many people wonder why he is in Gryffindor rather than Ravenclaw. But the bravery in Ioan also overrides any other trait that Ian has and his ability to jump into anything without hesitation is proof of that.
However, because Ioan is so honest, he's also extremely blunt and will say what's on his mind whatever the aftermath might be. This sort of trait in Ioan can also cause him trouble. Ian is also cunning and when in the mood for mischief can get you without you even knowing what hit you. Ioan doesn't have much of a conscience and does what he wants, though he's careful not to break any rules, but sometimes does get a little carried away and somehow is always able to get away with it. His cunning and mischief personality is very small and rarely does anyone see it however. Ioan will always look after someone before himself and is especially not selfish, no matter what anyone said. Because of his goody-two-shoes personality when he was young, he has earned many enemies but always had friends to back him up. Ioan has always been popular wherever he went because he is easy approach and fun to be with, for when he's here it's never boring. Ioan also is incredibly stubborn and if he says he's right, he's right, despite being proven wrong many number of times. Ioan's intelligence can also cause him to be a bit cocky and turn a disliking attitude towards people, but this side of him usually expands when he's in a foul mood. His moods don't necessarily change easily except with his temper. Ioan can turn from happy Gilmore to anger management boy within seconds; he ticks off easily and will chew anything out even for the smallest thing. His temper is more than likely to be his worst quality and for anyone who's seen him extremely mad usually stay away from him after knowing this side of him. But after being angry, Ioan can immediately return to his good side because he doesn't keep anything inside and therefore has no regrets to his angry. Ioan will acknowledge if he's wrong and is not afraid to admit he's wrong in front of anyone, giving him the usual aura of being comfortable with himself, which Ian is. He's more than comfortable with himself and is not scared of the person he's become.
History: Ioan Caine Scotts was born to the muggles Caitlin Thatcher and Brice Woods in southern Australia. Even at such a young age, Ioan was proven to be an extremely powerful wizard because of his lack of control in his power at a young age and because he showed the usual sign of magical blood in him at the age of 3 (whereas most would show their magical power during their elementary years.) Ioan had grown up with muggle parents and therefore had no idea how the things that happen to him did happen. He had no explanation of when he was very angry and he'd unintentionally lash out his anger at anyone who happens to pass by or the person who was the source of his anger (also another sign that he was extremely powerful because his being able to hurt someone without the proper equipment or incantation.) Because of his muggle parents, Ioan had led a happy life in his childhood and would definitely be the childhood Ioan would beg to go back to. Ioan was a carefree and happy child with many friends and family surrounding him. He was a daredevil and did whatever he wanted, but never disobeyed his parents rules. His parents were Ioan's rock and he appreciated them without any hesitation. Ioan believed that his life was happy because of his parents love and because of how good they were to the citizen society. They did anything they could to help out, therefore his parents were popular people among his block and so was he. He had many friends and never felt alone in his life at all.
However, when Ioan was 9, both parents had been diagnosed with a deadly disease and had soon died sometime later. This meant that Ioan was left as an orphan. This event hit him like a brick and he broke down almost immediately. With the knowledge of his breakdown, and fear that he will continue to do so, his relatives were reluctant to take him as a burden rather than a child. This, however, just made Ioan even worse. He was passed around the family for a year, and it was during this time of his life that Ioan became to be a sort of 'bad boy.' His emotions were taking over him and he chose to deal with them by causing trouble, disobeying rules and constantly getting himself in mischief. With the fact that no one would actually take him made Ioan feel that he was rejected and that he wasn't really loved as he thought he was when he was little. He felt that the only people he could trust were his parents and no one else. But when Ioan was ten, he moved in with his aunt (Kristina Williams) and uncle (John Cash) in London who made Ioan feel right at home and disregarded his used-to-be frequent breakdowns. They loved and cared for him just as Ioan's parents did. His aunt and uncle were a witch and wizard, and therefore introduced Ioan into a world that he'd never known before and the world that he belonged to. From the stories that Kristina's sister (Ian's mother, Caitlin) told them (for Caitlin and Brice had a complete opposite response to her sister and husband being a witch and wizard than Petunia and Vernon Dursley), his aunt and uncle were quite sure that Ioan had magical blood in him and taught him as much as they could about the wizarding world. The Cash's had a young daughter the same age as Ioan named Jezica, who because like Ioan's sister and was very close to her. And though Ioan had lived in London for most of his life, Ioan still had that thick Australian accent that just won't go away. Because of his aunt and uncle's respect to Ioan's parents, his last name was never changed as well.
Since Ioan had moved there, he became that usual old self again, being carefree and happy boy. The Cash's knew that Ioan wasn't totally his old self and will never be, but was quite happy with the progress that he was making. When Ioan turned 11, he and his cousin received the Hogwarts letter for them to attend the school. Ecstatic of their letter, his aunt and uncle helped him with buying his supplies and helping him with the train station. Though his aunt and uncle were sad to see him leave, they assured Ian that he would love Hogwarts as they had gone to Hogwarts themselves (funnily enough, Kristina was in the Gryffindor house, and John was in the Hufflepuff house.) When Ioan arrived at Hogwarts for his first year, he was sorted into Gryffindor after a debate between Hufflepuff and Gryffindor (the hat knew about his aunt and uncle and seemed to assume that his parents were the same, which they were.) Happy about this (and that Jezica was sorted into Hufflepuff) Ioan began to live life at Hogwarts quite happily. Even though Hogwarts wasn't anything like his home with his aunt and uncle and always chose to return home with his cousin, but he fell in love with Hogwarts for many a time. He made many friends, including James Potter, Remus Lupin and Sirius Black. He even made friends from other houses. His most favorite class happened to be Transfiguration and always received high marks on it. Ioan was also extremely intelligent and many wondered why Gryffindor instead of Ravenclaw, but Ioan was proud of his house and meet it's personality standards. Though Ioan was brave and did anything he wanted, he rarely broke any laws and if he did, he always managed to get away with it. Life at Hogwarts was fun, nothing in particular happen that changed his life but only made him even happier than he was before if that was possible.
Ioan had always known what he wanted to be ever since he heard the word "Auror." His Gryffindor house had always hated Slytherin house and he therefore was no exception. The Slytherin reputation of them being wizards who wanted power beyond all other things and therefore resulted into becoming 'evil' wizards is something that Ian took into heart and ever since his second year, Ian wanted to fight dark wizards and become an Auror. Though he barely managed to pass the requirements for a witch or wizard to become an Auror, he did so and therefore took the usual amount of three years to become an Auror. After passing his training, Ioan become an official Auror and had become extremely good at catching dark wizards. He had caught many dark wizards in the time of Lord Voldemort and was also asked to join Dumbledore's organization, The Order of the Phoenix. But Ioan declined, saying that he was working for the Ministry and if they found out about Dumbledore's organization, he'd be fired like that. His job was more important to them. Dumbledore was understanding and said if Ian changed his mind, the door will be open for him. For five years he worked as an Auror. But when Voldemort had killed the Potters (James being one of his important friends) and had turned his wand on Harry (their son) Voldemort's curse had backfired then Voldemort fled. Ian, knowing or rather, strongly believing that Voldemort wasn't actually dead, had taken his hands off the Auror part and then entered his career as a member in the Department of Mysteries in hopes to find something about Voldemort and how to officially defeat him. It was here that Ioan had taken Dumbledore's offer to heart and joined the Order of the Phoenix despite the lack of members and lack of anything to do.
Now a member of the Order, he served five years as a member of the Department of Mysteries and gave the information he could find to Dumbledore about anything regarding Harry Potter and Voldemort, all other information was discarded. During those five years as well, Ioan learned to be an animagus. His personality was matched with a red-tail hawk, and therefore was registered as a red-tail hawk animagus on the sheets of paper. This sort of power gave Ioan and Dumbledore an edge on spying on supposed death eaters for the Order. For five years, Ioan worked in the Department of Mysteries and became worldwide known for his former job (as an Auror) and as an Unspeakable. The Ministry had never suspected that Ioan had become in a league with Dumbledore and during years that Fudge had refused to take Dumbledore's advice and refused to believe Harry Potter that Voldemort was back, Ioan wanted to quit his job and work fully for the Order which began to span and got more involved with the Dark Forces. But Dumbledore had refused and asked Ioan to stay in the Department of Mysteries with Arthur Weasley and therefore leak Dumbledore information about anything going on in the Department and the Ministry. It was only because Ioan respected Dumbledore that he did was he was asked and remained in the Ministry and leaked information for Dumbledore. He become quite a value for the Order for any information he brought home was used to their advantage and the Order was able to understand better of what was going on in the Ministry because of Ioan's position.
But after the hearing of Dumbledore's death, Ioan quit the job. Revolting about Dumbledore's death, Ioan had decided to fully work for the Order. But when Minerva McGonagall had asked him to teach the Transfiguration position at Hogwarts and also become the newly appointed Head of Gryffindor house, Ioan said no without hesitation. He knew that if he could help the students (for it was sure that Voldemort would target the younger population for recruiting), he could be that much close to the destruction of Voldemort. Since that Ioan had known Harry's father (though perhaps not like Sirius, who was killed during the past couple years much to Ioan's dismay, or Remus Lupin) he hopes that Harry and he could be good friends and that Ioan could help Harry as much as possible about anything (Ioan had an idea bout the Horcruxes because Dumbledore had told him his theories but Dumbledore didn't say anything that was set into stone about this theory on how far Voldemort was willing to go to become immortal.) Now serving as Hogwarts Transfiguration teacher and head of Gryffindor House, Ioan had three jobs and doesn't know what is to come next, but his bravery and chivalry tells him that whatever it is, he will be ready for it, no matter what.
Pet: Since that Ioan can change into a hawk, he doesn't have an extra pet.
