How's this for a joke
$124 for the rubber boot on the front drive shaft! So where else I can get one vaguely the same size? My mechanic mate is leaving town so I'm spending up doing all the things I can before he pisses off. He gets me good prices on most things. But no more. So it time for the big service.
1. Flush the cooling system
2. Diff Oils
3. Tranny(auto) fluid and filter
4. Serpintine Belt
5. Plugs and leads
6. Dist cap and rotor
7. Pinion Seal and T-Case output shaft seal(DONE)
1. Champion Plug $3.50EA (4wd USA Perth)
2. Sparky Lead set $50 Brand: Fire something or other from the US (4WD USA Perth)
3. Dist cap $14 from Dealer
4. Rotor $21 from dealer
5. Serpentine belt $50 (mate)$76 from a Dealer
6. Diff Oils(Free, mate)
7. Rad flush (Free, Mate)
8. Pinion Seal $24 (Mate)
9. T-Case Output shaft seal $57(Mate)
So did I get ripped off anywhere on that list? Helpful for next time. Work out if it's cheaper to order and ship from the East or not.
Re: How's this for a joke
Get a listr of parts & prices from the dealer, then compare to 1. USA4b4, 2. Auto Alliance & 3. Mascots....all ship aust wides and have far better prices than the dealer.

For little things like spark plugs, leads and oil you probally cant beat prices at places like marlows or veale.
Our Champion plugs are NOT very common at all. I doubt Marlows would have them. And if they did I don't think you could beat Eddie's price of $3.50 EA. BTW Dave have you checked out the new Extreme Jeep BB?

Re: How's this for a joke
I got aftermarket plugs (NGK, I think) from Repco and they crapped themselves after only 5000km's. I replaced them with the Champions from Chellingworth and they have been fine.Probably done inexcess of 15000km.
Marlows and the like IMHO are only any good if you have a Holden.
BTW, fellas, if you need brake bits for your Jeep. Give Perth Brake Parts a call and get a price. Their not bad.
as i work in the aftermarket automotives spares industry here on the east coast of aust i have the ability to locate parts at the best possible prices though a network of different suppliers , but have found conventy auto the amoung one of the best places to locaye parts as cheap as possible and they will usally under cut most of the other retailers out there if you tell them that you can get it cheaper else where !!! and agrees with you guys on the ngk plugs they are crap as they had put the timing out on my jeep and cause all sorts of running problems with it !!! just ordered a new set of champions for and now waiting for them to arrive and i paid only a few less cents for them but have to pay freight to get them to bris vegas so not fair why are not many companys that hold jeep parts apart from the dealers and very few specialist who now want to charge the earth for them !!!!! hence may be i should move to the western states to live happy and content with my jeep and a far more resonalable cost to the hip pocket !!!!
happy jeep'n dudes
