How Smiley killed a demi god
How Smiley killed a demi god (or Kreshak and Dessaryth killed the game bug)

Gather around honoured comrades and hear a tale of terror! Let this storey be a warning to those travelling to the Forgotten Pools of the Barrens region.

It was bright night, lit up by a near full moon when Kreshak and Dessaryth met up at the Outpost, North West of the Crossroads. The two Tauren champions were drawn to the region by reports of centaur assaults led by a brutish leader of their kind. The Sergeant of the small outpost, a tired looking orc by the name of Kussak requested our assistance to slay 15 of the man-beasts and to assassinate their influential leader. Naturally we agreed for the good of the hoard (and our money pouches) and the two warrior set off into the night with Kreshaks pet, Smiley, a Veloceraptor, in tow.

It wasn't long before Kreshak, Dessaryth and Smiley had slaughtered more than a dozen centaur warriors between them, when they came upon a lone centaur Stormseer standing beneath the shade of a palm tree. The female centaur sneered at us in contempt, seemingly oblivious to the fact it was about to be spell blasted and pasted across the tree by blunderbuss shrapnel. The two champions opened fire on the insolent creature, certain of an easy victory, and the centauress disappeared under a cloud of smoke. The firing ceased and the Stormseer remained unscathed and with the same mocking sneer on its face... silent and motionless. "That’s weird,” mused Dessaryth, scratching his chin. "Err... lets get outa here" urged Kreshak... "That ain't natural". Finally the Stormseer maiden spoke; "leave these lands, harm not another being or feel my wrath!"
"Yeah, whatever," said Dessaryth, adding under his breath "you pasty faced b**ch" as he and Kreshak withdrew from the area. "T'was a demigod I tells ya stated Kreshak"

As the trio travelled further through the lush oasis foliage they began to recover from the unsettling encounter and soon the Stormseer was a distant memory. They butchered more centaur warriors until they came upon a wooden hut structure, mounted on stilts on top of a hill, and there on a wooden platform was their final objective; the centaur leader.

"Sick 'em Smiley” Kreshak cried, sending his eager raptor companion charging at the well-muscled centaur warrior. Dessaryth began chanting out a deadly spell while Kreshak unloaded with his blunderbuss. The centaur leader charged and bellowed a brutish war cry, swinging his hatchet too and throws as he tried to keep smileys slashing talons at bay. With a cry and a gurgling scream the beast fell in a heap on the ground. Just as the party was celebrating their victory, their celebrations were cut short as dark storm clouds rapidly gathered above their heads. There was an ominous rumble of thunder followed by an almighty bang. The two Tauren heroes shook their heads and found they had been blasted onto their asses by lightning bolt that had struck in their midst.
Rain lashed down and the wind howled, quickly taking on a familiar voice: the Stormseer they had met earlier. "I warned you fools to leave this land! The Lushwater Oasis will tolerate your taint no longer!"
Our two heroes were quick on their feet and dodging repeated lightning blasts from the irate demi-god. "Run for it!”
Kreshak looked over his shoulder, fearing for his loyal veloceraptor companion and was amazed to see smiley sniffing at supposedly nothing. The little reptile let out a threatening his and leapt into the air, his claws stretched out and dragging blood behind them. "Arrggghhh!!" screamed the familiar voice of the Stormsear, and a lightning blast emerged from in front of Smiley and sizzled the scales on the tough creatures chest.
By now Kreshak had an idea of what was going on and called out "quick, Dessaryth, heal Smiley!”
Dessaryth obliged and soon the sound of the Stormseers screaming died out, leaving the small veloceraptor standing victorious and spattered with the blood of the vexing foe.
A centaur body materialised under his feet, mutilated beyond recognition, but shreds of veil left the heroes certain it was the Stormseer that lay dead.
"It seems her invulrability was temporary, and her deity like abilities were nothing more than invisibility spells and lightning magic,” observed Dessaryth.

The two heroes returned to the Crossroads outpost, carrying the head of the rebellious centaur leader, which they turned in for their reward. The heroes parted with their well-earned loot and Smiley, the hero of the day, was treated to an extra large helping of spicy chicken legs.

Great story! My bear went off on a harpy once in a similar manner. I think Grel or someone else higher level was with me. We had no idea what Payton was fighting, but whatever it was he was winning so we just chuckled and awaited his triumphant return.
