Hot Transport
Hot Transport
Black flies Shadow Cutter past colony L3, searching for any trace of the stolen transport ship. He makes a couple of rounds around the colony, then heads off in the direction opposite from the Earth. After flying through space for a while, Black finally hears his sensors go off, warning him of a near-by ship.
Thank god, I was getting really bored, he thinks to himself as he kicks his jets to full and heads off in the ship’s direction.
The transport ship, a medium sized space craft, is a good ten times the size of a normal MS. It has a small docking bay, and room for about four MS’s inside.
Black wastes no time, grabbing onto the docking bay door with one pair of arms, then forces open the door with the other pair. Once inside, Black shuts the door as good as he could and checks the docking bay to see if enough oxygen was in the air. He sees that there’s only about 33% oxygen in the air, thinking, ok, gotta make this quick, then. Black takes a couple of deep breaths, holding the last and popping the hatch to the cockpit. He kicks off of the back of his chair and floats across the docking bay toward the doors leading to the rest of the ship. Once at the doors, he hits the switch and the doors slide open. He gets into the hall in which the doors lead and hits the switch on the other side, closing them. He lets the air out of his lungs and breaths heavily. Once he has his breath back, Black heads down the hallway towards the main hall and the bridge. He puts his back to the wall, unsheathing his sword. The door opens suddenly, Black tackling the person who walks out. Once pinned, Black finds that the man is actually but a boy. He guesses about the age of 12, maybe older. He also notices the hump on the kid’s back under the cloak he wears, a deformity which is easily noticed.
“You the one who stole this ship?” Black demands. The kid looks at him, turning his head to the side as a dog would. “Do you understand English?” Black says, annoyed. The kid turns his head again. “Fine,” Black says, getting the kid to his feet, but keeping his hands together, “I’ll just take you back to Earth and…” The kid starts to struggle, hard. “No, no, no, no, no, no,” the kid utters frantically like a child just learning the word. “C’mon, kid, let’s go,” Black shoves him forward into the bridge of the ship. Black finds some cord, in which he ties the kid’s hands together and to a chair while he turns the ship around. On the way back, all the kid says is, “no, no, no, no, no, no…” and so on. Black flips a switch and blasts some music to drown out the kid.
Once back at the Zephyr Research facility, Black lands the transport and drags the kid out of it. The researcher to greet them goes wide-eyed as Black asks what he should do with the kid. “There you are,” the researcher says to the kid, “what were you thinking?” Black shrugs, handing the kid over to the researcher. The researcher hands Black his reward and thanks him for a job well done.
