Hello & Welcome!!!!!!!!!
well, I guess they have changed the features on these boards. Now you have to pay to get emoticons and no pop up ads...........sigh............ Oh, well
I guess I should introduce myself. My name is Sandy and I live in the country in central New Mexico. I have a hubby, kids and grandkids. I am a crafter and gardener. I craft with wood, flowers, fabric, goose eggs, etc., etc.
The flowers I use are from my garden. I especially love to dry flowers for many applications. This year I plan (with lots of help) to plant a huge plot of flowers for drying and hope to hook up with other crafters ( especially in my locale) who would like a supplier of freshly dried flowers. This years bunch will be ready from summer on.
Thank you for joining me and I hope we can have a great time getting to know each other and sharing about crafting.
Re: Hello & Welcome!!!!!!!!!
HI, Thomas. Thank you for visiting. Please do give this link to any crafters you know. I don't know if you will have time to come back and read this reply. I know you are very busy doing the Lord's work. Praise the Lord!!!!!!and Bless you.

Re: Hello & Welcome!!!!!!!!!
Well,, THomas, I don't kknow about luck, but you are definately blessed and a blessing to others.
I have a wonderful hubby that can cook too!!!!!! When the need arises .
I'm glad you have someone to balance out those fruity pebbles
God BLess your day and don't forget it's valentines day, so show your mate how much you love her. I'm sure you don't need me to tell you that.
Re: Hello & Welcome!!!!!!!!!
Well, I have been blessed with a wonderful wife and a beautiful daughter(she's almost 4).
Get this! I had some flowers sent to my wife today to surprise her at work. For some reason I have not figured out yet, the florist called her at work about a half hour BEFORE the flowers arrived, and asked if she had recieved her delivery yet. I will have to thank that guy. Lets see, where is that 2X4?
Now, Thomas, it's more blessed to forgive.....
Your wife was probably so pleased, she didn't care if that guy let "the cat out of the bag".
So, you and your wife have a 4 year old daughter? Aren't little girls such a blessing? I have a daughter, too, but she is almost 23! I can't believe she is almost 23!!!!!!!!! She has been a blessing since the day she was born. Sometime when I have time, I'll go to fishes and loaves where I started "I believe in angels" and tell the story of my baby girl seeing angels before she could really talk well.
Well, you enjoy your fruit loops....hope you didn't burn them
As for me I'll just stick to that bland old oatmeal in the morn. they say it's good for the heart.
Hey have you figured out how to insert graphics. I have taken graphics, put them on a personal web page so I could give them a URL and it still doesn't work........sigh. Oh, well, God BLess you Thomas ( alias fruit loop) , I'll be heading toyour board in a minute here. Sandy
Re: Hello & Welcome!!!!!!!!!
Well, I never made it with the 2x4. I sure can talk a mean game though. I was gonna be nice about it. I wrote a thank you note on the side of the board.
Little girls are a blessing. She is without a doubt a daddy's girl. Last Thanksgiving, we went to my inlaws. It is their family tradition to go around the room, and each person tell what they are most thankful for. When my little girls turn came, she yelled out real loud, "MY DADDY!"
I think my little girl saw angels too. I'll wait till you make the thread at F&L before I tell you about.
Why stick with bland oatmeal? Quaker has a new(I think) flavor of instant oats, banana bread. As Andy Griffeth used to say in those coffee commercials, its goooooooood.

Re: Hello & Welcome!!!!!!!!!
Hello! Great to see this board being used so well.. lots of silliness! Just my kind of thing! Sandy and I are friends from way back.. my 23 yr old daughter and her daughter did a lot of growing up together.. back when they were short people. Well.. maybe I should change that statement since they're both still short..
My illustrious career in crafts includes drawing, which can be seen at itcametopass.itgo.com (along with my husbands works, affectionately known as the dustmaker), sewing a million reindeer heads (okay, maybe not a million.. but i will NEVER sew another one.. eeesh), Christmas ornaments, sculpture (doesn't that sound impressive? ), writing and the craft of rebuilding a house. I know how to do things I never wanted to know... move walls, jack up a house to set a new foundation, lay tile, lay pine floors, hang sheetrock, mud and texture walls.. I haven't figured out how to lay glue down wood floors without being baptised in the adhesive however.
I'm not a great cook, however find myself now writing a cookbook.. go figure. Sadly, there isn't a single fruity pebble involved!
Okay, who knows how to make garden stepping stones? I'm looking for ideas that are cheap and easy, yet attractive! Something that would include a design and I could possibly write in it before it sets...? Is this asking to much?
Re: Hello & Welcome!!!!!!!!!
My daughter is shorter than me and I'M short
Hey, everybody, you have to go to Kayte's site. She did a pencil sketch off one of my hubby's baby pictures and it is amazing (it's not on her site, but she has more, there). It hangs on my living room wall. Her hubby makes turned wooden bowls that are the most beautiful that I have ever seen. I'm not just biased......it's true.
PS: Kayte is good at what ever she sets her mind too
I know what you mean, Kayte, about knowing how to do more than you really want to. I can now know how to build a fence, plumb a house, castrate a pigs &bulls.....,shall I go on?
Yeppers, country life is interesting.
I ordered a few years ago, a round mold for stepping stones, but I'm not sure how you'd write on that where anyone could see it after it was unmolded.......
I'm really glad to see you here Kayte. God BLess you and talk to you via land line soon. Sandy
Re: Hello & Welcome!!!!!!!!!
Castrating pigs? Yikes! I had to do that in high school as part of my agricultural production class. I will never forget it. Thanks. Now I have to push my bowl of pebbles to the side.....
edited to talk about oatmeal
Chocolate, huh? When I was a kid, my grandmother used to mix ovaltine with the oatmeal. Make sure to add milk. It was pretty good from what I remember. I think I'm off to buy some oats now.
My grandad used to make what he called "sludge", which was a big glass of ovaltine with enough graham crackers crushed up in it so that it was one huge, pasty, gloppy mess. Never was brave enough to try it.

Re: Hello & Welcome!!!!!!!!!
Well, Thomas, it's actually been a few years since we raised pigs! It was an educational experience!!!!!!!!!
Pigs are really a lot of fun and we had several sows farrow (give birth) at the same time one year. We had little piggies running out of our ears. They are sooooo cute.
We had cows for several years, too, but had to sell them last year.
As for the ovaltine>>>>>>>> great idea. I love ovaltine! I'll just have to try that!
Well, here it is Sunday and I'm watching my 3 year old grandson. Hubby working today and grandson couldn't get to sleep last night, so even I didn't make it to church . Better get going and take this little guy outside. It's a glorious day, sunny and warm ( unusual for this area in Feb.!)
God BLess and Have a wonderful Sunday
Re: Hello & Welcome!!!!!!!!!
I would love to live where I could raise animals. Thats one of my goals, to get something like that before I retire. Just a few miles south of here is Amish country. I really enjoy driving through there. Beautiful country. I wouldn't mind living near there. The Amish poeple are really nice, too. And they can really cook. Excuse me. Gotta go fry up some bacon now.
Re: Hello & Welcome!!!!!!!!!
I hope you can move to the country while you are still young, Thomas. 50 is knocking at my door and sometimes it gets a bit rough (on the body)
Amish country......AHHHHHHH.....sounds sooooooo peaceful. I can hardly wait til we get to have real peace and live in magnificent beauty with Jesus. Sandy
Re: Hello & Welcome!!!!!!!!!
Hi all, looks like a fun site. I am a regular at Jacque's site so saw your invite there. Hi Macs!!! Haven't done any crafts or sewing in the last few years. Too busy working full time outside the home, raising my daughter alone as it turned out, but I very often have these ideas that float around in my brain if I could just get my offtime organized enough to really pursue them. Wow, was that a long improperly worded sentence. Well, like the little cats on tv say, "Whatever!" Went to New Mexico back in 1967 and again in 1968 with my parents and their travel trailer. Beautiful state. I was fascinated by it. Will come back to visit, put ya on my favs. Blessings in Christ.
