It's pretty salty and fatty. Kinda like meat-flavored lard, I think. Not that I've ever eaten lard. Blech. But spam just tastes like... spam! All processed meat tastes the same to me. I avoid it whenever possible.
Where do you think SPAM the name originated? Something Probably Hamlike?

When I was little, my dad was a big camping/hunting nut. If you didn't realize, SPAM is very portable!! It travels well and doesn't wrinkle.
Have any of you seen the supercheese "More SPAM!!" commercials? They're kinda like the processed meat cousin to the old Mentos commercials.

I saw a news story today about a new restaurant that opened somewhere in the Phillipines, I think it was. It's a fast food restaurant called SpamJam.
And sure enough, all of the items on the menu feature....Spam!
They have Spamburgers, Spamwiches, etc. When I saw the menu board, I immediately heard that sketch in my head, "There's eggs, bacon and spam; eggs sausage, bacon and spam; eggs, spam, sausage, spam, and spam...."
