Has anyone simmed outside the IDF?
Hello,

A message from a very bored person over here . . . my RL has thrown me a little loco so I'm trying to pass the time from my end. I've noticed that no one has bothered to discuss any 'general' topics in the IDF forum since July other than myself . . . I'll just post this to revitalize this section.

I'm wondering exactly how many simms we've been on outside our lives within the IDF . . . including non-star trek RPGs. I only started simming since March when VC recruited me into DS15. I do have some experience since then outside the fleet in a couple non-IDF simm/RPGs.

*******************
Previous simms: (June 22 to mid July, 2003)
Fleet: Independent - no other affliated simms
Simm title: Voyager - The Next Generation
Premise: Basically a Voyager spinoff set in June/July 2379. I originally joined this simm when the CO invited me through a yahoo greeting . .. I had simmed on DS15 for nearly 4 months so I thought that I'd give it a shot. Same ship with a new crew of young rookies . . . this simm didn't last when the CO and XO just couldn't put in enough time to keep the simm afloat. By the time the simm ended only the CMO and I were posting consistently enough to keep the mission running along. I was compelled to bail out of it when the CO resigned . . . and did so. Needless to say I was disappointed that we never completed our first mission after arriving in the Gamma Quadrant and sneaking into Dominion territory where chaos happened during a heated confrontation.
Rank: Ensign
Position: Ship's counselor. I know Voyager never had one on board . . . but frankly this is what I applied for and got it as the CO was impressed with the level of detail I put into my bio.
Character: Willow Anya Bristow. I shaped this character after one of the NPC's I created on DS15 . . . as her older sister . .. in a way it was a wonderful transition into this simm. Well in a nutshell Willow is a natural psychologist . . . with somewhat of a snobbish streak at times. And she *did* tell off her CO just as the ship was attacked and boarded during a bizarre mental health epidemic . . .
When the Voyager simm ended I wasn't ready to just delete my character Willow since I grew to love her as another extention of *me* . . . lol . . . I do tend to get affectionate with my PCs. And so when Voyager tanked I decided to take my character elsewhere to another simm. I decided that I'd transfer her onto on of the other ships or the other station in the fleet since I seemed to be comfortable in the IDF. I did manage to find a couple simms that had counselling positions avaliable . . . and applied for Willow to join the crew of SB10. Captain Treniek accepted me in early August and I've been SB10's counselor since then while keeping my post at DS15. My character Willow Bristow has changed since early August so check SB10's site for further details.

Current: (Since Sept. 13, 2003 to present)
Fleet: none - works out of independent Alias fan site - CIA Headquarters
Name of RPG: Alias Survivor
Summary: A RPG dedicated to the ABC hit show Alias (which begins its 3rd Season tomorrow) which has hints of the Survivor franchise. Ten characters are divided into two enemy camps - CIA and SD6. The CIA (well usually the good guys) and SD6 (former Terrorist organization destroyed in Season 2) are neither the good guys or bad guys necessarily. The protagonist Sydney Bristow is the host and is the only neutral party. So far both teams have gathered their troops and are aiming to destroy each other's organization and ultimately outwit their teammates for global domination (on the show there is a 16th century Rambaldi prophecy that the whole plot is based on which outlines not only the fate of the free world but also the ultimate destiny of the protagonist,) while carrying out the prophecy. . .
My character: Irina Derevko, member of the SD6 team
Relationship to the director/protagonist: Mother
Nationality: Russian
Age: 50
Insider Info: Former veteran agent of the KGB - after leaving the newly formed SVR she became a rogue leader of a Russian underground crime family where she was only aka. The man. Irina Derevko had in 1982 falsified her death when her original alias Laura Bristow was uncovered . . . Derevko resurvaced after encountering her daughter Sydney in Hong Kong nearly twenty years after her 'apparent' death. In Sept. 2002 she 'defected' to the CIA and helped co-operate in taking down SD6. Alliances to the CIA were broken in April 2003 when Derevko formed an alligence with Arvin Sloane - the former head of SD6 and (by then) a known enemy of the United States, and her former protege Mr. Sark in search for retrieving Rambaldi artifacts to fulfill Rambaldi's prophecy. As of the Season 2 finale the whereabouts of Derevko became unknown as the individual was seen fleeing capture by her daughter Agent Sydney Bristow . . . where her daughter suddenly went missing from her home . .. and Sydney returned in 2005 with no memory of the past two years . . . (as of the Season 2 final episode/last scene).

***********
And that's my simming history outside the IDF. As I mentioned above my first character that I simmed independently became my second IDF character. Has anyone else simmed in other fleets or independent simms outside our wonderful, beautiful fleet and would like to share it?

Lieutenant Leeta Gill - Chief of Communications - DS15

Lieutenant Junior Grade Willow Bristow - Counselor - SB10

Simming life outside IDF
I was a part of a science ship (USS Darwin) for a few months, I joined just over a year ago as Anthropology, Linguistic and Cultural Specialist NCO Aya Yiru (an alien made up of psychic energy).

But the CO was LOA since before I joined to the time I quite in June of 2003 and the XO was rarely there either, but by then I had the Goliad so I wasn't complaining.

I loved the idea of the Sim, a science ship in deep space (not a well armed explorer, but a tiny little Beagle-class ship, similar to Oberth-class vessels), but only three or four of the crew were really active.

Anyway since then I've been involved in SB10 (twice), the Patriot and the Goliad.

My security chief on the Goliad is also trying to set up his own Sim (aboard a freelance cargo ship, which I think could be interesting) so I've signed on as Science & Second Officer.

Re: Simming life outside IDF
Hi again!

More simms to list or to keep up to date:

Former: still the same lol.

Current:
Deep Space 15 ..... same person, same place, nearly all the same but going strong. Just celebrated our 1 year anniversary.

CIA Headquarters .... doing badly overall. GM has been on LOA since Feb. 14 and we have been without a clear direction for months .... morale will self destruct ... only a matter of time.

USS Holland NCC 23423.
Just joined in February so its a relatively new simm. I play their Helm officer, Lt. Rhiana Arrhae Hunnicutt. This simm is in negotiations to join the IDF so I won't say anymore without blushing. Lol. I'm running late so I better be going.

Lt. j.g. Willow Anya Bristow
CNS
SB10
SOD
IDF
