Graphite or fiberglass
Are most of your rods graphite, fiberglass or hybrids? have you tried the new composite hybrids with the soft fiberglass top sections? They are great for cranking and live bait fishing.

both
i have a vintage Garcia-Mitchel fiberglas rod and matching reel and a new 2 pc graphite rod with some cheap reel that goes "whirrrrrrrr" when you crank it, probably cast plastic gears, but it was $20 (for the set) so i can live with it, but would prefer a smoother feeling and sounding rig
