Gorean sex-slave cult raided
British authorities have uncovered a bizarre sex-slavery cult whose followers base their lives on 1960s science fiction novels after a report that a Canadian was being held there against her will.
According to a report from the British Broadcasting Corp, police discovered the bizarre sect after raiding a home in the suburbs of the northeastern British town of Darlington.
However, when police called at the house, they found no evidence of criminal activity and said all those involved were "consenting adults."
The 29-year-old Canadian woman reportedly joined the sect after reading about it on the Internet.
She told a friend in the United States that she wanted to leave but couldn't because the sect had burnt her passport and return ticket. Her friend called British police, who subsequently conducted the raid.
But upon arriving at the premises, a police spokesman told the BBC they did not find any evidence of "criminal offences."
Authorities also investigated claims from a father in Essex who expressed concern his 18-year-old son was being trained to be "a master of his own sex slaves".
Officers who spoke to the teenager said they had no grounds to get involved because they were satisfied that he was at the property voluntarily.
Lee Thompson, 31, who lives at the property that was raided, described himself to reporters as a master who trains slaves.
Thompson told the Northern Echo that: "I have been called sick but I don't think what I do is bad."
He said about 350 followers met regularly in pubs and clubs around Britain's north-east.
Thompson, who was banned from a butcher's shop in the town for turning up with a woman on a leash, said that female members of the cult cooked and cleaned as part of their responsibilities, but there was also "an element of sexual domination."
The so-called Kaotian sect follow the Chronicles of Gor novels, which depict a society that is divided into castes and where women are kept as slaves.
Kaotians are a splinter group of the Goreans, who base their lives on a series of novels written by John Norman, the pen name of American university professor John Frederick Lange.
Fascination with the books has spread since the advent of the Internet, where there are sites, chatrooms and role-playing games dedicated to the fictional land of Gor.
"It works on the system that some women have a desire to serve. Most people think it is a very sexual thing, but it is about every action that they make, they do it for their master," Thompson said.
"Saying that, the girls will do everything they are told when it comes to sex, but it is all voluntary and all safe. I use Internet chatrooms to meet people, the girls are quite willing."

Sex-slave cult uncovered in Darlington
And not just any owl cult either. One which, if we are to believe the reports, is based on a series of dodgy novels from the 1960's. Scientology anyone?
Durham Police discovered the bizarre sect after raiding a home in the area, after receiving complaints that a woman was being held against her will. But a spokesman said the Canadian was a willing participant and the other people involved were consenting adults. The group, called Kaotians, follow the Chronicles of Gor novels which depict a society where women are dominated.
The cult is that of the Goreans - created by an American professor named John Norman (real name Dr. John Lange) who wrote a series of novels set on the planet Gor.

Durham Police are investigating a sex slavery sect operating in a north-eastern suburban town, whose members model their sado-masochistic relationships on a series of 1960s science fiction novels.
The suburban home where Kaotians gather
The bizarre cult came to light when police raided an address in Darlington after complaints that a woman was being held against her will.
But it transpired that the Canadian concerned was a willing participant and police had no grounds to act against the so-called Kaotians sect.
It is understood the 29-year-old had voluntarily attended the sect after an internet chat, but later contacted a friend in America, who then contacted police, saying she wanted to leave but couldn't as she had burned her passport.
Police helped to arrange her return home, but a spokesman said there was no criminal activity discovered and that people involved were all "consenting adults".
Officers also investigated claims by a man in Essex that his 18-year-old son had joined the quasi-medieval sect, but police spoke to the teenager and he confirmed he was at the property voluntarily and police said they again had no grounds to get involved.
The Kaotians are a splinter group of the Goreans, which according to estimates number 25,000 followers nationwide.
Both groups base their slavery and dominance beliefs on a series of novels written by John Norman, an American philosophy academic. The Chronicles of Gor depict a society, called the land of Gor, which is divided into castes, and where women are kept as slaves.
Fascination in the international sect has grown since the advent of the internet.
Lee Thompson, 31, lives at the address that was investigated, and describes himself as a master who trains slaves, and that while they must cook and clean as part of their duties, there is an element of sexual domination.
In an interview with the Northern Echo, Mr Thompson, said: "I have been called sick but I don't think what I do is bad.
"There's no reason for people to be afraid of me. I'd die before I see anyone get hurt."
Mr Thompson, who was once banned from one shop for turning up with a girl on a leash, said that as many as 350 followers regularly meet in pubs and clubs around the North East, in an area from Berwick to York.
Mr Thompson, who has been a follower for 15 years, and says he has enjoyed slave relationships with about eight girls, added: "It works on the system that some women have a desire to serve.
"Most people think it is a very sexual thing, but it is about every action that they make, they do it for their master

THE SEX SLAVES OF DARLINGTON
Outrage as cult keeps women in chains
By Jeremy Armstrong
A SORDID cult that puts women in chains as sex slaves is operating from a terraced house in Darlington.
Under the rules of the Kaotian sect run by "master" Lee Thompson, women are trussed up in bondage gear and beaten with whips and cat-o'-nine-tails.
When they leave the house Thompson, 31, puts them in collars and wrist cuffs and leads them on a leash like a dog. At home they have to cook, clean, sit at the master's feet and carry out his every whim without complaint.
The sick antics of the balding, bearded Thompson have provoked outrage in the Co Durham town. He was banned from a local butcher's shop after he wandered in leading a woman on a chain and attempted to buy bacon.
Police investigated the cult after getting a phone call claiming a 29-year-old Canadian woman was trapped in Thompson's pebbledashed house.
A friend insisted she had emailed saying she wanted to leave the cult but was not being allowed to. She was taken to a women's refuge by police before returning home.
Police were also contacted by the worried father of 18-year-old Zachary Nicodemous, who left his home in Essex and quit his job to become Thompson's "apprentice". Thompson yesterday insisted he was not doing anything wrong. He described himself as a master who trains and keeps women slaves that come to him willingly after meeting in internet chat rooms. He said: "It is a total lifestyle based on the system that some women have a desire to serve."
But a friend of Zachary's frantic mum Mary said she feared the cult had brainwashed him.
The pal added: "Zach is not exactly a man of the world. He's a geeky sort of lad. I'd be surprised if he's slept with a woman before."
[heck that's every Gorean I know]
The Kaotian sect is based on the 1960s science fiction writing of American John Norman, who described a fantasy society in which women were treated as slaves.
Thompson, who has a long-term partner, runs Britain's North East branch of the cult. It allegedly has 350 members. There are said to be 25,000 Kaotians in the UK.
A shocked neighbour said: "You don't really need that sort of thing here." Durham Police said: "Our investigation did not disclose any criminal offences."

Shop bans bondage nut for taking woman on leash to buy bacon

THE leader of a bizarre sex and bondage cult has been banned from his local butcher's shop - for taking his "slave" in on a leash while he ordered bacon.
Lee Thompson, head of the Kaotian sect, trains and keeps women as subservient members.
They wear collars and wrist cuffs when they appear in public - and cook, clean and sit at their master's feet at home.
Behind closed doors they are subjected to beatings and whippings
The balding and bearded "master"- who recruits over the internet - has already been probed by police.
But as all the slaves are volunteers, officers are powerless to act.
Shopkeepers in his home town of Darlington, County Durham, where the cult operate from a suburban house, refuse to serve the cult chief.
Thompson, 31, insisted all his slaves were free to leave.
He said: "A sad slave is no good at all. I treat mine like diamonds.
"I want to see a girl's eyes sparkle and her mouth turn up at the corners.
"It is a total lifestyle and works on the system that some women have a desire to serve.
"Most people think it is a very sexual thing but it is about every action that they make. They do it for their master.
"Saying that, the girls do everything they are told when it comes to sex, but it is all voluntary and safe.
"I use internet chat rooms to meet people. The girls are quite willing."
The Darlington branch of the sect - who claim to have up to 350 members - was probed by poliec after a call from the United States claiming a Canadian woman was "trapped" there.
The 29-year-old had burned her passport and return ticket home to join the cult. But when she finally decided to leave, she was placed in a women's refuge by Durham police before flying back to Canada.
Thompson now has a replacement slave - as well as an apprentice, 18-year-old Zachary Nicodemus, who quit his computer job in Essex to follow the "master".
Despite claims by his family that he had been brainwashed, Nicodemus said he was at the house voluntarily and happily.
He added: "All my life, I have had a feeling there was something missing. Then I met Mr Thompson. This is the thing I've been looking for."
The Kaotian cult are an offshoot of the Goreans, a mostly internet-based group inspired by a series of misogynistic science fiction novels by US professor John Norman in the 60s.
Thompson also has a long-term partner, who is aware that he has sex with his slaves.
He believes slavery bears many similarities to marriage, adding: "No one is ever equal in marriage - this is a very deep extension of that."
