Good instructional book on Screenwriting
This is one of the best instructional books on screenwriting that I've come across. You can read a few sample pages from this link to Amazon;

Re: Good instructional book on Screenwriting
Hello - great site - lots of info and possibilities for learning more info. Which reminds me - can anyone recommend some "screenwriting software" available in Auckland, NZ? I am new to the craft and would like to take care of the practical aspects as I have heard it is very very important to get the format correct. So if anyone has any tips on what software would be best, availability etc. - it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you kindly.
Cal.
Re: Good instructional book on Screenwriting
Hey Cal,
Welcome aboard. Screenwriting software is pretty pricey. You're often looking at NZ$500 plus, for something like 'Final Draft' Please see website here ordered either from the US or via the local Guild in NZ. I'll check around for other software available and post it on the site. If anyone can help Cal out, please post a note on this thread.
btw; FYI - there's an interesting article about elements of plot in cinema movies at the NZ Writers Guild site, see article here that addresses issues such as 'A' and 'B' story, background etc. Check it out.
