Give Mike a rest please.
The guy has become a 1 man rally killer. Do something. Playing him like this only hurts the club, and he won't get rested while playing. The move to 1st has done squat. He actually looks WORSE.
I saw a woman wearing a sweat shirt with "Guess" on it. So I said Implants?"

But that's what everyone wanted, dun - move him to first, get him more at-bats. I know, you weren't one of the ones saying that, but the greater majority was. Well, now they're getting what they asked for. Hope they like it.

Yeah, I know. My gut told me it wouldn't make a difference. But what's happened this yr has happened each of the past 2. He can't play 150 games, no matter the position. He always comes out fairly hot and nosedives, then comes back a bit when the season is lost. Let him catch as much as he can, and on the days he needs rest from it, SIT him. He's useless to the club like this. And he's batted where he can do the most harm to the O.

I've gotta agree. Having him in there all the time obviously isn't working. It would seem he needs the day off, and I really think Art should seriously consider changing up the batting order a little. Hidalgo has cooled off some too, so has Cliff Floyd. Move Hidalgo up to #3 and either bat Cliff 4, Mike 5 or Mike 4, Cliff 5. Whatever the choice, at least try SOMETHING to goose the lineup. The worst that happens is it doesn't improve us - can't possibly make us much worse.

Could do. Probably CLiffy 3rd and Rich 4th, but it's not that big a difference either way.

That would work too. Like I said - just try SOMETHING. The order as it stands is obviously not working and flipping Cliff and Hidalgo seemed to do the trick for a while there, so why not?

Very true, dun. We seem to have gone from the ridiculous to the sublime...go figure.
Well, you're getting your wish - Mike's sitting today. Though considering the fact that he was finally showing signs of snapping out of his funk, I'm not sure I entirely agree with the timing. Hopefully, Art knows what he's doing.

He needed it. Playing 1st hasn't kept him any fresher. Which of course is absolutely the ONLY reason to do it. No one can tell him his little league D at 1st doesn't cost more runs against than his inability to throw out stealers.
