Re: Game 255
Russians gained Interrupter gear and made some breakthrough towards trucks. It crushed AH forces defending Selisia but was unable to take EPrussia and in the process lost 1 ftr to the Germans dispite having inter. gear. Russians forces easily took Armenia. All available forces converge into Poland.

Re: Game 255
and slowly, the Mighty Wehrmacht cranks into gear, let all fear her might and splendor.
Retaining Danzig on R1 id a definite plus, same for WPrussia... not so great losing the AH/Ger forces in Silesia, but a fair trade.

Vive la France!
To the cry of Vive la France, the French with the new alliance of Belgium, storm and take Rhinland and liberate the low lands. French ingeneers gain int. gear, truck and move up to almost tanks. Germans have their back door open to the Entente.

Re: Vive la France!
ough!... I've never seen so many oportune 1's. And all for the Entente. UK gets a couple 1's for Dip, adding Denmark - and more headaches for Germany.
I predict a short and painful game for the CP, unless some kind of miracle occurs.

Re: Vive la France!
Russia is crippled. Russia bids to help France put Germany out of the war. As such they drive a force of 5car/5rtl into Silesia, and reinforce Moscow against the heavy German buildup in Danzig.
the Kaiser senses opportunity and sends all available forces (2inf, 7car, 5ftr(int), 2zep) into Silesia. Little did anyone suspect how the lack of infantry support would playout. Result of comabt: taken without loss. Germany is cheering.
Not only is the bulk of Russia's army in shreds, but there might just be enough troops around Hamburg and Bonn to keep the French at bay for long enough.
Meanwhile, Austri retains ownership of Ukraine and will begin applying direct pressure ot Moscow from the south.
I guess that one battle erased the seemingly endless list of timely tech and Dip dice the entente have been getting (endless - and its only G2)

On to Alsace!!!
With the cheers of Vive La France!, Clémenceau watches has France reclaims Alsace to the great glory of France. He orders the taking of Rhinland and the reinforcement of Belgium while he rebuilds his Southern navy. With the arrival of Bombers the French hope to able to deploy bmrs rapidely to compensate the German zeps.
These advancments help the russian moral.

back to the Rhine!
by the end of turn 4 Russia is holding the line at the Russia-UKraine border and NW through Belorussia and Lithuania. Austrian forces mass in Kiev, but have to divert effort to stave off amphibious landing all along the Adriatic.
Germany is strong in Hannover and Bavaria, holding the French consolidated position to the western Rhine. Germany is also plagued by endless amphibious landings along the Baltic coast. The Kreigsmarine is forced to lurk in the English Channel and North Atlantic, unable to return home or challenge the Royal Navy.
Turkey finally removed all lingering Russian units from her soil and has developed tanks to challenge the growing menace from Egypt. Turkey also suffers from amphibious landings.
The Entente has unquestionable dominance on the waves, but the CP position is very strong on land..
anything is possible.

Re: back to the Rhine!
We are now in Turn 9, and lots of things have happened.
The Entente continues to dominate the Adriatic and Eastern Med, ravaging (I almost said 'ravishing') austrian and Turkish holdings with amphib/bomber attacks. Bosnia is firmly in British hands at this time.
Austria finally invaded the Moscow region, and annihilated the entire Russian army - russian holdings reduced to st. Petes, Estonia, and Finland. Most providential, as they can head their army west again to push the Brits into the sea.
Germany continues to control the North Sea, and now shares it with the original Russian Baltic fleet, as the French and British navies build up in the English Channel.
Rhineland is a pockmarked wasteland between contesting armies with the Germans in Hanover and Bavaria, and the French in Belgium and Alsace-Lorraine.
fun game

get out of Alsace Lorraine!
The response to French attempts to fortify Alsace-Lorraine and threaten Bavaria was met swiftly and brutally by German mechanized units. A large force of German armoured cars and the entire airforce attacked with minimal INF support and crushed the invaders....
meanwhile, the bulk of the Wehrmacht moved into the Ruhr, following a tentative advance by their austrian allies. Belgium is now beleagered, and under the guns of Germany.
in other news, the original Russian Baltic Navy was sent to the bottom by the German North Sea fleet.
How will France respond? Attempt to reinforce Belgium? retreat in god order? Build up its Atlantic Navy? Send further troops to Austria?
UK and French General realising the perilous situation of the ground units, moved to devise a counter move that could in longer term prove fatal to the CP's. But it need work.
Upon agreement, the French sent against the German Navy 5 bmrs and what is left of their navy (1 DD, 1 SS) and was able to seriously cripple the unsuspecting German navy. The Germans where left with 2 BB and 2 DD to defend agains the Royal Navy who on their next turn sent with the help of bmrs the German navy to the bottom of the North Sea bringing elation in both capitols.
in the mean time French units were called back to defend the mainland.
The UK, not content with destroying the German navy planed a night amphibous assault against Thrace and a special offensive unit was deployed from Bosnia against Serbia.
The UK manged to completely surprise Thrace forces suffering no losses. In the case of Serbia it was a much dirtier job but the UK forces pulled it off.
So the UK is now settling in comfertably in the Balkans.
How will the CP's counter UK progress. News soon to come. Edited by: Fredcaillou at: 2/2/06 2:22 pm

Re: Entente responds to German breakthrough
The Germans were quite happy to sacrifice their navy for absolute dominance of the western front - which will soon be well west of the French frontier.
Meanwhile, the perilous situation in the Balkans hs everyone neervous, as Entente naval dominance keeps the CP on defence mode from the Adriatic to the eastern Med.

French abandon Paris to advancing Visigoth hordes
TUrn 10 saw an AH mechinized unit secure the Argonne, allowing the massive German army to consolidate their forward positions in Argonne. Meanwhile, German units probe into Champagne (hic*) and Picardy.
German buildup in France is slowed somewhat by the need to reinforce the North Sea and Baltic coast from potential UK landings.
French response is to picket the line from Champagne to the mouth of the Seine and flee for Marseilles... a young man named Vichy looks on with a weird sense of deja vu.
Germany is poised to enter Paris in force.
Admiral Bismarck is drafting plans for a Meditereanean Fleet based in Marseilles.
Meanwhile, the Austrians are once again holding Serbia in force, and are busy tearing down Russian flags from the hastily formed government in exile set up in Belgrade.
the Turks hunker down and await whatever hellish oblivion the Brits will send their way this turn.
Re: Austrians crushed again in Serbia
The Brits expeditionary forces based in Bosnia lunched an all out attack supported by ftrs and bmrs and freed with minimal losses Serbia. The Russian government is reinstated. British units amphibiously assaulted and took Romania, cutting any chance for the Austrians to rail in more units into Bulgaria.
British sent troops in Britanny to help the French and harrass the Germans.
Thrace as been reinforced dramatically to the expense of Egypte which has been left abandonned.
Awaiting to see if the Austrians will be able to re-take Serbia.

Re: Austrians crushed again in Serbia
game ends on AH12 when we realize that the combined 1-2 AH-German turn will push the CP to 110, and also net them Paris (which along with Moscow wins the game anyway). the possibility of any battle failing and thwarting this is so remote as to not consider it at all...
moving on to game 270, with Boromir wearing the white hat this time.... go Denis and AH1!!
