Funhouse of Fear- This was the first 3-D house I had ever been on and I thought it was an awesome way to distort what you see. A lot of the visual tricks were pulled of nicely and as with every house the actors did a hell of a job. The use of clowns usually works well, as 1 out of every 6 people are deathly afraid of them, but maybe it wasn't the best theme for what could be a huge house. None the less, it was still kickin' and had some good scares. (Coolest feature: clown heads)
Re: Funhouse Of Fear
Fun House of Fear. Oh My Dear God! This house was the scariest house of any! And it totally blew me away! But it was very short, but they put just the right amount of people in there so that we never stoped moving, and for me running! This house and the Movie DrIvE IN had an imaculant amount of scareactors in it! I do not like clowns, and they were every where! Spoilers Beware! In one scene you walk by a big smiley face, and it spits at you when you go by. They also used the strobe trick from last years Scary Tales! There clothes match the wall and they get you.
Re: Funhouse Of Fear
After being disappointed by Ship, I was saying to sis that we might
have faired better doing the other houses first. I had heard Funhouse
was not scary and that it pretty much sucked. We waited through a
long 1 hour wait, watched the Lizard Man do his normal routine.
Wishing he would give me his drill so I could make a whole in my ear
to drain the fluid build up from the flight from Massachusetts
earlier that day. Upon entering the house, I was immediatly laughing.
Please note that I am one of the many who think clowns can be pretty
sick and twisted, but not overly scary. The effects were nice and
bright. Disorienting and colorful. I had one of the best scares of
the night here as a walked into a darker room. There were a bunch of
floating clown heads hanging from the ceiling. I proceeded to grab
one of them and guess what, it was an actor. It gave me a bit of a
rush and went laughing out of the room. The other notable in the
house was a very small detail or sorts. In one of the rooms I was
walking thru and there was a midget sized clown, very evil looking
staring up at me as I walked by. This just creeped me out. Did anyone
else see this? My sis and I just looked at each other and shivered.
Very cool!
I think the addition of 3D glasses in this house was a bad idea. It
did little for the effects (unlike HOS's Demented Dimentions).
Overall, I liked Funhouse and regrete not doing it again. Not a
killer house, but way better than I expected.
