Forum Moderators and general miscreants required... Hey folks,
I’d like some volunteers to pick up and run with some of the various forums on this board – people with a pretty ‘in-depth’ knowledge of the specific subjects and/or a real flair for them.
The Forum Moderators tasks would be;
1) Initiate new topics for discussion
2) Keep an eye on discussions to make sure the board guidelines regarding behaviour don’t get biffed
3) Anything else you can think of to get things goin’ and rollin’
I’m cool with taking the ‘Writing Craft’ forums in the near future – but I would like a moderator for the ‘Poetry’ forum as that’s not my specific field. Someone with a deep knowledge of various poetry and verse structures and formats. I’m looking for poets and ‘budding’ poets to use this as a valuable resource to refine their work. If this sounds like you – lemme know. I also want to keep the Music – performance and practice and the Science forums and play a key role in the various Literature forums. Having said that, if there are any Lit/Crit monsters out there who wish to initiate a war on whether “a Derridian or Saussurean or Pomo reading of…X…is the most interesting way to go – stick up your hand.
So the forums I’d like to call for volunteers to moderate are;
Humour (Someone with a definite flair for cracking us all up, and/or a nose to links and bits ‘n pieces that will amuse.)
Computers (as beyond the simple stuff I’m still a dufus – so any programming fiends out there, anyone armed with an awesome depth of the 'scary stuff' - we want to hear from you.)
Spirituality (Id like someone who has done some serious investigation into the various forms out there. This is a forum I want to keep pretty open to input – no proselytizing, just exploration)
Life in General (Someone into serious discovery – internal or external- or just a hard case ‘take’ on that stuff that keeps us going.)
Philosophy (Any PhDs or Professors out there? Someone who can roll off quotes from Nietzsche, Plato, Wittgenstein, or Ernie from Sesame Street in a pinch to solve or completely confuse any of our ‘what if?’ ramblings.)
Art and Art History (Any graphic artists and/or historians out there – let me know)
Film and Cinema (I don’t get to nearly as many movies as I’d like to and don’t watch any on TV (since my TV exploded) so I’d like a real film festival fiend to take over this one.
At some stage in the future I'd like to get a couple of forums going that aren't currently up;
1) Serious issues for young people; (under 21s say) moderated by someone of that age group who does some serious thinking about some heavy stuff; teen addiction, sex, suicides etc. If anyone knows someone capable of running such a forum lemme know.
2) Handcrafts; this being a creative persons site, anything creative outside of what we currently have up. (Metalwork, wood, flax etc...) I am a complete ignoramous with tools. I look at a nail and it bends!
If you have any talents in these areas, wave your hammer (or needle)
On the subject of additional forums - if there's a subject related to creativity that you are devastatingly talented in that isn't up on the board - holler and we'll er...volunteer you to be moderator for it.
If any of these sounds like YOU – shout! (Or email or post a message ) and make yeself known to one and all…
Also; once we really get humming, I'd like someone 'Stateside' or in the U.K. to keep an eye on things when the time zone difference means I'll be fast asleep.
Just to make sure no scuzzbags start leaving droppings around the place or hassling people for the hell of it.
I'll sing out when the time comes...

Cool on both counts, LV. I'm up for both suggestions.

If you're still needing people, I could possibly take on Art, and Art History as well as Spirituality. I have a BA in Fine Arts and also teach it...and spirituality is a facination of mine.
Let me know. I can give you my email, and or ICQ for further discussion.

Aha, an artist! Cool. Sounds good to me, so let's go with it. You are now the moderator for both the 'Arts and Art history' forum and the 'Spirituality.' Feel free to get discussions going as and when you wish and keep an eye on the developing conversations.

I am going to volunteer John..forgive me Love? You don't know us well enough to make him an op but he IS a computer geek and a good one. My suggestion is to simply ask him for help if you need it and see what happens.

I could manage the spirituality Forum, or just be an overall mod. I am new here but I am staying for a while. I study religion and figure out what I can.
