Floods in New Zealand
At 6 c Bayly Road that is...that's where I live. I got home from the gym today and whole bottom part of our house got flooded...I mean river greated me in our drive way We have..or maybe had nice fluffy carpets so it was a Mission Impossible 4 to suck up the water Since I try to see the funny side of everything I must say I got some nice extra workout I was sprinting in and out of the house trying to rescue anything from total destruction...if anyone watched me they must have though there is a swarm of bees after me I made a fast call to my BF who sprinted down from the office,so he could help with furniture etc..and then he sprinted back-cos he has business to run...so I was left with all that glory all by myself..Am I lucky girl or what
So basically I have spend 3 hours with vacuum cleaner sucking water out..BTW great arm and back workout Carpets are clean like never before-not sure how they will look after they eventually dry..like a month later I guess And finally the garage crap that was supposed to be gone like 6 months ago has been moved out and can finally be chucked outta here..yupiiiii!!!
I am sooooo glad that my immigration papers are upstairs and not in downstair office,cos I spread them all over the floor in one of our spare room. So at the end it is not so bad...did extra workout,cleaned the carpets,sorted out the rubbish and only con is brutally wet carpets I can live with that
oh my goodness, Thats horrible..I'm sorry to hear about the flood. Was your house the only one that got flooded or was there more? A couple years ago water came into our basement and its never been quite the same, thank goodness ours wasn't finished and the clean up was easy....lots of garbage bags and buckets full of water..lol...
You have such possitive outlook on life--its wonderful!! The carpets will dry and just look how clean they'll be!!

Honestly..I can be such an Ninkompoop I failed to mention (soooo typical of me) that the floods were caused by faulty valve in our Washing Machine-How embarassing
Anyway Washing Machine or real floods it was wild
Yeah LA carpets are spotless..funny we just had them clean like months ago and I can assure you...the job wa not that great. The water we sucked out was still pretty dirty

Shees yeah...could have been mud all over the place So even thou my carpets are all sqishy-sqoshy at the moment,at least they are clean
