Fleet Awards - COs
COs,

Explain here how you think the monthly fleet awards affect your crew and if the program could be improved in any way. Thank you.

Fleet Awards
I don't mind the Fleet Awards (though the last two months they have been right in the middle of a huge work loads).

They're something to work towards, but all the COs who submit candidates stand behind who they submit though their nominee may not win.

"Handing" out medals for all those nominated would be a perk, because if they weren't any good then the CO wouldn't have submitted them, then have the overall winner announced in the newsletter--this way everyone wins (though someone wins just a little bit more than the rest--if that makes any sense).

Any way that's my two cents (as the saying goes).

Re: Fleet Awards
Hi all,

The Fleet Awards let your crew know what, you, as Captain, think of the job they are doing. In this way I feel that they are a tool that should be used to induce your crew to post and encourage them to improve how they post. I feel that a "Pat on the back" goes a long way in making a better player. That is what these awards do. On the X, when I nominate someone for an award, they win it on our ship. Winning the Fleet awards and being recognized as being one of the best in the entire Fleet, is icing on the cake. One of the things that I feel should be improved is recognizing the COs of the Fleet. A lot of work goes into being a CO. Building and maintaining a strong ship should be rewarded. I think COs, should be eligible for the Most Posts award, but that's just my opinion. I do think that there should be a "CO of the Month" Award or something like that to recognize all the work that goes with the job. Well, anyway, that's just my take on the awards.

Re: Fleet Awards - COs
Captain Zhaan,

The Amiralty has made a communication error between us and the COs. We thought it was already like this on every ship but apparently it's not. Ship nominees are supposed to be the winners on that ship. The Liberty used to actually make plaques with the ship winners on it and that winner would be the nominee for the fleet award.

Another thing is that back on the Sunfire, the whole crew used to vote on awards, the CO just didn't pick them. This gives the crew a chance to regognize each other's work. The crew would actually pick the ship winners. The CO would just break any ties.

Captain McCloud,

Perhaps the COs should be eligible for some awards. I'll bring that up with the Admiralty sometime in the next few months after we get everything else taken care of. You may have to remind me or send a formal letter to us mentioning it. But it is a good idea.

Fleet/Sim Awards
Thanks for actually making it clear Admiral. I had already assumed that that was the case. After I send the awards into the Admiralty I send a copy to the crew, just so they know I'm thinking of them:D

Any ideas where I could get my grubby little hands on these plaques? Being nominated and actually winning recognition from the Fleet (or a plaque or medal from me) couldn't hurt moral.

Hmm...they used to be put on the Liberty site. I would suggest trying to get ahold of Ace Decade for these plaques. He may or may not still have them.

Awards
Hello and good morning,

I must say I giving out awards, but I hate picking them out. I don't think I have ever met the deadline of getting them in by the fourth of each month and that is attributed to the fact that I am a busy slacker. I appreciate the Admiralties patience with my slackerness in awards and I am endevouring to get them out sooner than I have been. After all, I have the best crew in all IDF.;) Rock on, Have a nice day and Drive safely
