First time filing taxes as a couple with child
Hello,

The time is finally here and I can't wait to find out how much of a return we will actually receive.

Here is some info:

Legally married with 1 one child.

My wife made 25k and some change, her W/H are a whooping $4,500 dollars! Yea, she pretty much loan Uncle Sam interest free moeny.

I made a measly 14K and some change with W/H of 1,146.38.

My question is, should we file separately or joint to maximize our return? Would we qualify for any other credits or no credits?

Thanks!

File joint. There's a child credit - your income tax should be next to nothing, about all your withholding refunded.
