Fantastic Album
Heard about Wilder from the Podcast known as Cinecast. Adam and Sam will usually feature some interesting music between segments, and Wilder's 'Last Monday Night'. Great tune. Checked out the album on iTunes and picked it up just now. Excellent stuff. The guitar sound is fantastic. Layered, spacious. And who the hell doesn't like tunes about heartache and pain!? Ha!
I'm a big fan of Neil Finn, and Wilder's voice definitely reminded me of my favorite Kiwi - very distinctive; full of emotion that isn't forced or demanding to be heard. Just there and sincere. Great job. Hope Wilder makes it to Chicago sometime.....

Re: Fantastic Album
greetings landrvr- no you're not the first to post. i just get tired of seeing the same posts month after month. thanks so much for listening to me and the fabulous sam and adam on cinecast. i appreciate the hell out of the neil finn comparison. i've heard that before but how could that get old? i'm with you on that hope for playing chicago. i've spent a good bit of time up there as my sister used to live there and i will be pushing in that direction as soon as anything happens outside of here. playing chattanooga on august 5. just go chi town to indy to louisville to nashville to nooga and you're there! keep posting and vote for sam and adam at cinecastshow.com. thanks homes.

Various stuff
Hey Wilder, sorry for the long wait in reply. Glad to hear the show on the 5th went well. Got question about live stuff: do you ever record stuff off the board? If so, you ever think about releasing some live stuff as mp3 files? Man, I only have your one album, and I'd sure like to hear more!
I found you on iTunes quite easily. Just did a search for your name and BINGO.
Sam and Adam. Those bastards. They had to go and turn me on to another artist - Kelly Hogan. I guess she's originally from around your area, so you no doubt know of her. I've just picked up her last 2 discs. Great stuff. I found out she lives in Chicago now, so I'm looking forward to catching a gig. I know, I know. This forum is about YOU. Haha.
So, on that note, is there another release planned? Did I mention how great some live mp3 files would be? Ha!

Re: Various stuff
landrvr- indeed there will be some live downloads eventually and i'll let you know when and where. yes kelly hogan has been around for a long time. she used to have a great band called the jody grind and a couple if not a few members were tragically killed in a car crash coming from a gig. really rough. but she moved her base to chitown and i've heard good of it.

Great news about the live downloads. I await! Is 'your Sweet Heart' your only release? I'd love to support you further, but don't know of any other purchases to make, haha.
Is the live stuff - or even one off singles - something you could sell on iTunes as well? I was also curious as to how you got your album on iTunes? Did you reach out? Your management?
I went and picked up all of Kelly Hogan's stuff; including the two Jody Grind releases used. Excellent.
Re: Various stuff
um, i was signed up for iTunes through cdbaby. as for me, i have other releases under other names. they are not of the same genre but are as follows- ashtray and brighter shade. ashtray is available through me and brighter shade through brightershade.com. as for wilder embry, we will keep each other posted as to how this bird shall fly. keep the pressure on. wilder.

cool dream!!!
the grassmen fired our guitarist. we've put down the banjo and wrote 10 new guitar songs. we hope to starting gigging soon with a new name and a new sound. i'll even be on the sax during one song! don't worry bluegrass fans, we'll pull out a couple banjo tunes each show.
