FYI for Scribes/Mages I was just going over the differences that RA,reflect,and protection have on mages with and without Scribe. so here is the list: Non-scribe RA: +15 phy -5 each Elemental Reflect: -25 Phy +10 each Elemental Protection:-15 Phy -35% Resist skill GM Scribe RA: +20 Phy -5 each Elemental Reflect: -20 phy +10 each Elemental Protection: -10 Phy -30% Resist skill And a quick "whats dat mean?" If you have gm scribe you can keep RA and Reflect on all the time and come out with +/-0 phy and +5 bonus in each Elemental, FREE! Or if you fight a lot of warriors you can try RA and Protection and gain +10 phy and -5 in each Elemental. Side note here: Those nice colored weps are not all physical so RA is not your end-all-be-all it used to be for warriors. Unless its a low color ore, forget RA and try Reflect. Protection is the way to kill those pesky dexers now. You might take some extra punch from the physical(unless they are using an all elem wep) but you can heal and cast until your outta mana standing in one place(running around gives them swing recovery time when you could be casting another spell, like greater heal cause you know those small heals just can't keep up with the AoS damage system) But anyway, food for thought. |

Re: FYI for Scribes/Mages Being a gm scribe, I've already noticed some of hte advantages to the RA/Reflect and protection spells. I seem to be doing quite well against the casual warrior, and haven't died overly to much. To go along with the lessened downsides to the RA/Reflect/Protection spells, you also recieve a slight bonus to damage, although I haven't figured out how much of a bonus it is yet. If anyone could shed some light on it I'd appreciate it. It'd also be nice for people to give their thoughts on Resist and it's uses. Is it something worth giving up for another skill or is it still very important? Avalon Sagan Priest |

Re: FYI for Scribes/Mages I think resist can be great, but is it NEEDED? I don't know. Tanis is down to gm resist now and things seem ok to me, but I also have an LJ that is zero resist and he doesn't seem to have any hang ups either. Those extra 100 skill can go a long way in another skill to be sure. As important as resist can be against curse spells, they can be wiped away with one remove curse from the paladin. To have gm resist for the sake of only a few spells, that can be nulified by one simple pally spell...I don't know. Besides curses it also helps against a few necro spells I think and the para spell. GM resist can almost walk thru the para spell like its a small lag spike but zero resist can take 10 seconds on the para. Every skill you take is a balance and play style. I hope that almost helps |

Mages Tanis told me earlier tonight that someone told him you could gain magery from one of the mage weapons such as a -29 Mage weapon. And I tested it IT Works! You need a non spell channeling - non Best skill weapon that has is a high end mage weapon like a -29 If your working to gain magery - give it a try i gained some tonight on DG trying it out! ![]() |

Re: Mages you can use a spell chenneling mage wep its actually nicer cause you can whack away at stuff and still heal yourself And if your a straight mage with no wep skill i think the mage wep overrides the use best wep feature |
