FREE Online Training
I am looking for ONE person to receive free online training. I have been recieving many emails asking about training people online. However, before I figure out how much to charge and whats involved i need a guinea pig so to speak.
I have helped many people face to face but I am not sure how it will work online. So, one of you lucky people will help me find out.
In this training you will recieve a custom diet to help you gain muscle and burn fat, you will recieve a custom training program, you will also have access to me 24/7 (well maybe 12/7) to answer any questions or concerns along the way.
The only requirement is that you MUST be ready to do EXACTLY what I tell you too. There is no cheating on the diet allowed (unless approved) and no slacking in the gym. You will have to take progess pics and keep me up to date on your weekly progress.
This is an amazing opportunity when you consider that most clients are paying more than $1000 a month to train with me. So I want to make sure you are ready to take the plunge 100%.
If you are interested just post your interest to this thread, I will ask you some questions in order to determine the person I feel will represent me the best.
This is no joke and I NEVER do stuff for free, I feel you get what you pay for. This is the RARE exception so take advantage. You will be helping me refine the online training approach and that is payment enough.
SO start posting and telling me why I should pick you to be my first online client.
Re: FREE Online Training
WOW....this is quite the opportunity!!
Just to let everyone know you don't have to be competing this year to enter--it's open to anyone, man/woman, athlete/nonathlete, underweight/overweight...ANYONE and EVERYONE is eligible..you just have to want to make a change!!
Re: FREE Online Training
Alright -- I'll throw my name in the ring and see where it goes from here:
I gained 60 pds. during my pregnancy -- I went from 162 when I became pregnant and the day I had my daughter, I weighed 222. I was dealing with post partum depression (amoung other things) and pretty much stayed at 188 for 2 yrs. My now ex-husband took pictures of me in Feb of 2002 (which I'm looking at now -- how unhappy I am in those pics!) and started to exercise a bit and diet a bit. It took a while, but I finally broke the 180 mark and stayed around 178. Fast forward a few years and a few life changes-- I weighed 178 on March 13, 2006. I am now down to 166 as of April 29, 2006. Thru reading, the internet and a couple of really good forums, I have gained some knowledge of nutrition and exercise -- enuff that a co-worker asked if I could give her some tips to help her lose weight for her wedding in June.
Do I want to make a change? Absolutely! For me -- I FINALLY will lose the pot belly I have had all my life and show the 6-pack I know is under there!! For my daughter -- to be the best positive role model I can be for her. For my Mom, who I've noticed has changed some of her habits as she has watched me over these past 2 yrs. And, as revenge can be sweet, I won't lie -- my ex-husband has a certain sentence he needs to eat.
I live 4 hours away from you Darrin -- there is no way I could train with you in person. I don't have a gym membership and I can't get one -- that my exclude me from this. However, I can possibly get to one to do any cardio if needed and I can fax you pictures of the workouts I can do on the machine I have at home.
This is an awesome opportunity -- I've seen the pictures of your Clients on your site and obviously LA -- you know your stuff. What a great way to learn together if this can be successful without the actual "personal" part of personal training!
Re: FREE Online Training
I am going to wait until the end of the month to pick someone. Like Lori-Ann said it is open to anyone anywhere not just people that compete.
ange123, love the story, this will help when it comes time to choose. So anyone else that is interested please give me a background story to help make up my mind.
Re: FREE Online Training
Hi,
My name is Emma,
I am 23 this year, I am an at home mum with a four year old daughter that keeps me on my toes, I have been married for four years and have been overweight most of my life!
I decided to make the change when i saw my wedding pic's! Not only was i so big i couldn't find a wedding dress to fit, but i was so ashamed of my looks that i cancelled all the big wedding plans and ended up tieing the knot at my parents with a few family and friends present.
I started my weightloss journey at 130 plus kilo's i have now lost 45 kilo's and plan to be 70 kilo's by my birthday this july, I have made healthy eating and exercise the formost of my day, I am dedicated and commited to my goals.
I would love to become a PT and help other like me, and i don't want my daughter to suffer like i did through school!
I have also been rather keen on bodybuilding, i have made a few friends through blogs and forums and have started to learn alot from these very specially girls, I am going to be a spectator at my very first comp in melbourne in july and am so looking forward to it and hoping that i will learn a few tips and perhaps make my mind up whether to get into comps or not.
Through my weightloss journey thus far i have learnt a whole lot about food and exercise but also about myself I'm commited to getting to my goals and i will do whatever it takes to get there!
Thankyou for this opportunity.
Em
Re: FREE Online Training
This definately sounds like a great opportunity, I have once before received training from an online trainer & seen better results then what I was provided at the gym.
Online training seems to be the growing trend at the moment with it happening more & more. Last November I completed my very first 12 Week Challenge. I went from around 27% body fat to around 20% body fat and then after three months of my challenge ending I went down to 17% body fat. I was so impressed at the results that I would definately give it another go. At the moment I am currently doing up my own program for my new 12 Week challenge which I am just into the 3rd Week, so far I have lost 3kg's and I can't wait for my muskles to grow once again, eventually my goal is to get up on stage and perform in a figure competition, but at the moment I am still lacking a little confidence. This year my main goal is to get up on stage in some local competitions for bikini comps so that I will be ready for the real deal.
My last program was run a little like this:-
- 1 week before program officially started I sent through my measurements including skin folds & body fat analysis.
- Few days before starting I recived my workout program and my diet
- Started my program on a monday and at the end of each week I emailed through with my starting weight and my current weight and then any comments on how my program was going
- Within 24-48 hours I received a response back from trainer about how it was all going, if she felt like I was loosing too much weight too fast then my program was adjusted.
- Week 6 I was issued with a new diet & training program for the last 6 weeks, still once again emailed weekly.
- Week 7-12 I felt like I wanted my abs to be more defined so I had my program tweaked a little more to help me achieve further results.
- Week 12 - depleation week, ready for photo shoot, was a great experience and was a great releif to see the changes that my body had underwent.
I can handle someone being tuff on me and making me accountable for everything that i have done. I have a real passion to not fail at anything that I do, I know that I have the power to complete anything and really can not wait until the day that I have the confidence to walk up on that stage and compete.
Preparation is the key to success!!!
Tracey.
P.S. I love reading Lori-ann's blog, she is a real insiration and when I am feeling down I just love to check out her pics to give me the motivation. I haven't told u yet Lori-Ann but I just love the hair!!!

Re: FREE Online Training
Darrin, I would LOVE to be your guinea pig. If I wasn't trying to pay my through the next 6 years of school I'd be paying for all the mentoring/advice I could get...I got into all of this last year, I got trained for free by a co-worker who used to compete, and he was super impressed by how dedicated I was, I followed both his diet/training right up until the competition i did in October without any problems. You would not have to worry about any cheating, and I would be sooo greatful to be able to get all of this advice from you for free....I want to be able to compete again in October, and I want to be in the best shape I can be in...I can't attach any pictures for some reason..... its not working, I could e-mail them to you, or if you could help me post a few pics of where I was in October and where I am now.....
WOW what a gracious offer…I have been asking myself why I should or should not apply ?
Reason why I should not be taking someone else’s shot at this:
1) I am in already pretty decent shape-around 15 % at the moment.
2) I am athlete who loves physical challenges…so I do not need anyone to stand behind me with a whip to get me going (quite opposite I need someone to make me chill and not over-train LOL)
3) I love to eat healthy...I actually binge on steamed vegetables, so strict eating is not a major issue for me. Well I have to be chained and restrained for a few days per month LOL
4) I have won 6 out of 6 bodybuilding comp-including FIBB National Open title in South Africa, so I do have fairly decent knowledge about how to get into shape.
Reason why I should go after this opportunity with all my heart and why Darrin should consider taking me up as his client:
1) I could be just the right on line “Guinea pig” since I live in New Zealand. It is way too far to have chit chats on the phone. All communication would have to be done via internet.
2) My goal is not just to loose a few pounds and have nice lean bodz. I am fired up to have the best physique I ever had…I want to get ripped to the bone. No matter what I did in a past I could never ever achieve it. Can Darrin whip my butt into best shape of my life?
3) Can I finaly rid my body of cellulite and to get my day to day water retention under control with Darrin’s nutritional and training expertise?
4) I am positive person with high drive to succeed and will do exactly as I am told, no doubts, no questions asked. Discipline is my middle name.
5) Having Darrin overlooking my nutrition and training would take huge pressure of me. I still have not figured out (yes after all those years) how to get that ultra lean look all over my body. I can get my upper body lean, but my legs…oh boy!!! I am not experienced enough to know what my body lacks…do I need more carbs…or more fat? Am I eating too much or not enough protein…etc?
6) I am 39 years old, Meso-endomorph, definitely not someone who looses fat easily. My body fights for every ounce of fat. I eat clean all year around-if not I fatten up real fast
7) I am Cardio bunny. I know that Darrin gets his clients (LA including) in awesome shape with weights and diet mostly. I have always done massive amounts of cardio-3 x per day sometimes, while preparing for competitions. Weights and diet were just never enough. Can Darrin get me ripped without my daily cardio sessions…huh?
I could go on and on…but everything has its start and end…so I just want to wish everyone applying for this incredible opportunity the best of luck. Whoever will get picked will be the one who represents Darrin needs in his client the best.
I came across your posting when I viewed your journal section about Kelly Kuus and her win at Stratford. I work with Kelly and have seen her amazing transformation this past year that she's done with your and Lori-ann's assistance.
If you're looking for a CHALLENGING client, then I might be the person.
Not in that I wouldn't workout or follow your diet plan, it's that it might be more difficult to come up with a diet plan for me. In 2000 I was diagnosed with Crohns/Colitis, and then in 2001 and 2002 I had major surgeries that removed a good portion of my digestive system.
As a result, there are various foods that I have difficulty digesting properly, and my body doesn't absorb water and salt very well. (I can go into further details if selected). As if that wasn't enough, in 2002 I was also diagnosed as Hypothyroid. I take medication for that, and it seems to be in control (or so the doctor says).
I would really love this opportunity, as I am overweight and at my heaviest weight I've ever been. I used to be a pretty good athlete back in high school, and I would like to get back to that shape and conditioning. I would love to lose the fat, gain muscle and be more healthier than I am. With the portion of digestive system missing, I haven't been able to find someone who knowes enough about it that could assist me in what foods to eat, and set up a specific diet plan.
I started working out with the weights again a couple of months ago and had a trainor set up a program for me, but I just haven't seen much results. I know there is underlying muscle and I'd like to think I'm fairly strong, but it's been difficult in getting rid of the unwanted fat.
I am not a member of Good Life Fitness, but I do have a membership at a local gym in my town, and I'll work out at the office with the free weights.
I'm on the computer every day, so the online training and access to you through the computer would be just AWESOME!! I don't workout with anyone, so the constant contact would help keep me motivated and focused on my goal, and keep me on track with my workouts and diet.
Okay, I'm ready to do EXACTLY what you tell me, HOPE you'll consider me for the online training!!!!!
What a wonderful thing to do, it's really very generous of you!!
I would love you to consider me to be your first official on-line client. I want to, no I'll rephrase that, I am GOING to compete in my first figure competition on 25 November 2006 and I would really love to train with you. As it will be a first for both of us I feel that we will be able to learn so much from each other. I am 100% committed and am really keen to get started. I feel it will be a great experience getting this fat and flabby body into competition shape
Re: FREE Online Training
OK......I'm in here so I'm serious.
I have been wanting this for a long time but everything else got in the way (good excuse anyway). NOW, it's time for me! I want to look as good as I can with proper diet, hard training and anything else you want to throw at me!!
I've been in the military, I played sports in school and I am very competitive so I ALWAYS WANT TO WIN and I know what it takes to get there!! I don't give up on things once I commit, and I am a perfectionist (ask my wife, I drive her nuts! ) So if you want a good base to start with and a head that's right, I'm your guy!!
Re: FREE Online Training (and the winner is...)
Ok, I have picked who I am going to train for free. I wanted to chose someone that needed my help the most and would show great improvements. This person also needed to live far enough from me that there would be no doubt it was all online training.
I couldnt just pick one however, soooooo, the WINNERS are: Insert drum roll.
Antigone (Em)
Reeforbust (Mike)
You both have my help for the next 12 weeks but we have a lot of ground to cover in the mean time. I am going to have issues with certain foods and availability or lack there of in your areas but we will figure this out.
YOu are both going to have to have some way of checking your body fat each week. The easiest way would be to pick up a Tanita body comp scale (can be purchased for under $100 Can) and I need your present weights and body comps. Also you better take before pics TODAY (front, back and side) full body wearing as little as possible. I want these pics updated weekly along with your body comps.
You can post on this thread if you have any initial questions and we will take it from there. Once we have everything ready to go it will take about a few days to get your diets done and programs based on what equipment you have access too etc. We will be comunicating through email (darrin@timetoemerge.com), you can post how things are going in your journal (mike you should start one). I will keep the pictures and post them when I think you are ready for people to see significant changes.
Anyway, thats that for now, Congrats and you guys are about to get a lot leaner a lot faster!!!
Re: FREE Online Training (and the winner is...)

Re: FREE Online Training (and the winner is...)
I would have picked you but you already look great, where is the reward in that!! Its like taking a ferrari and painting it a different colour, whoopie. I want to take a couple of...Ummm...economy cars and turn them into ferraris. Hmm, maybe I should call this "The Body Shop", a little bondo here a little sanding there, and a new coat of paint.
They better be ready to say goodbye to cheats and unmotivated days, they are going to be transforming infront of the world! This board and site is getting bigger by the day, with waaaaay more lurkers than posters. Who knows how many people will be watching thier progress as well as inspired by them.
Darrin
PS, you win the "most emoticons" contest. I think I just got vertico from reading your post
