Eliminating Evidence
Xiefall had his back propped up against the last of the supplies. Stretching out he heard his com beep. “Yea, boss?” Auray looked at him with a stone, emotionless face, “How’s it coming?” Xie smiled, “Good,” he patted the cargo behind him, “This is the last of ‘em! Ya know, Aku was screwin’ around so I figured I’d pick up the slack…” Auray ignored the chatter, “Any problems with the citizens?” A voice spoke up over Xiefall’s shoulder, “No, everyone is cooperating.” Akujin stood with his arms crossed, flask in hand, “We lined them along the wall, and they’d be stupid to even flinch.” Auray nodded, “Keep it that way.” He closed the link and sat up straight in his cockpit, everything was going all too smoothly. His intuition told him something was up. The men stood inside the bridge looking at Pondera Vita, fearless and even confident. The sight was enough to make Auray sneer. Leaning forward in his seat he kept a close eye the captain. The captain’s gaze was locked dead on the MS. However, it slowly drifted from Pondera to an upward stare as if he were checking something. Auray grimaced, “Bastard…” he muttered. Slowly he pressed two fingers on the controls and pushed forward ever so slightly. The barrels of his rifles pressed against the glass of the bridge. The men gawked in horror as the plates slowly started to fray and crack as the weapons depressed further. One man soiled his pants as the other panicked and smashed the control panel to the door. It was all too late as the glass shattered inward and then reversed direction and tore out into open space along with the men inside. The last one to succumb to the suction of space was halfway out of the door to safety when he felt his body lift off the ground and pull backwards. In a desperate act he reached out and grabbed the frame of the door. The bridge was glowing red from the emergency lights and all doors within the vicinity began lock-down. The man still held strong though the attraction was too powerful, pulling the oxygen clear from his lungs. Pain struck him as the door he had previously opened swiftly closed on his fingers, severing them. Auray looked straight ahead as the last body floated by him leaving a crimson trail. He closed the visor shut on his helmet and opened the cockpit. Floating gently to the entry he made on the bridge he touched the metallic floor gently and balanced himself. “Hm, I see…” Auray thought to himself as he looked at the monitors. Many just showed the colony and its everyday life, the civilians didn’t even have a clue as to what was going on. Although, the surveillance cameras caught everything that had been happening. Reaching into his cloak, Auray took out a file disk and admired it, he was damn glad he brought that along. One of his followers had encrypted a disk capable of what he thought his boss would need, with a little bit extra just for fun. Auray inserted it into the console and within seconds the entire colony shut down.
Back in the docking bay, Akujin and Xiefall finished the cargo transfer and walked over to the Vis Vires personnel keeping the captive pilots in check. Aku reached into his pocket to get his com and tell Auray they were ready to go when suddenly the bay got as dark as the space outside. The flashing of machine gun fire rattled rapidly no more than a second after the power cut out and didn’t stop until all the clips emptied and hit the floor. The hum of machinery could be heard and the back up power kicked in showing the slaughter. Blood and brain matter lined the walls as the bodies lay in their own fluids. None of Vis was hurt in the random execution.

Auray stood on the bridge waiting for the soft glow of the monitors to return. As they did he quickly got to work and punched in different commands. A screen brought up numerous programs with a “reactivating” status. He selected the funds of the colony and redirected it to the disk. Standing with his head bowed, Auray waited patiently for the file to load.
“What the hell happened?!” Xie shouted with a bit of a startled look. “It’s the man upstairs.” Akujin smirked as he referenced to Auray. Xie looked around once more and scratched his head, “Well uh, can we go now?” Akujin nodded and motioned for everyone to suit up and screw the clean up.
"Transaction complete" reflected off Auray’s helmet as he exited out of the applications. Before ejecting the disk and checked one more file and opened it using the security system. If only the personnel were still standing here so he’d find some amusement in their failure. Multiple windows started popping up all over the monitors stating the security system failure and then lost and corrupted files moments later. Auray took his disk and tucked it back into his pocket fully satisfied. He kicked off the floor and turned horizontally, planting his feet on the side of his rifle and ran along it for about ten feet before vaulting off back into his cockpit. He powered up Pondera Vita to full and took off along the surface of the colony. “If someone doesn’t catch that virus it’ll infect the whole place.” He didn’t feel bad though, they can still save themselves, though unlikely. Connecting universally to his men he readied them for the flight home and debriefed Aku and Xie, “So how’d it go?” Akujin nodded and sipped his flask, though not unusual but this time to a good day. Xie kicked back, “Yea, fun stuff guys. Though it was mostly slave work! Hehe, just kidding Auray.” Auray shook his head, “OK, both of you lead the men and ships back to the base. I’ll catch up with you later.” He closed his link and sped off into darkness. Xie looked to Akujin, “Where’s he going?” Though Aku didn’t know for sure but he had an idea, “It’s time…”
