Xiefall follows a loose lead from a man he knew from his past, trying to find out where the missing people have gone to. He waits at a street corner on Colony L7, watching for what the man had told him to watch for. And then, it happens. A blind woman slowly walks down the sidewalk across the street from himself. He watches as she pokes her cane around, making sure nothings in her path. Suddenly a van comes flying down the street, tires screeching and engine roaring. The van comes to a sudden halt right by the blind woman, two men opening the back doors and grabbing her, dragging her back into the van. As the van burns out and flies down the road, Xiefall pursues it but it obviously is too fast for the man on foot.
He tracks the van down a couple of street but then comes up with nothing, cursing himself for not have suitable transportation on the colony for the mission. He walks back the his MS, not even bothering contacting his client to tell them of his failure.
