DADA Class - 7th Year
Professor Flint.

Would he ever get used to hearing it? Possibly not. The thought of ever becoming a teacher had never crossed his mind when he was attending this school. Being back was like a dream. He'd forgotten just how beautiful Hogwarts was, and had been hit with it when he had arrived. Perhaps he'd matured over the years, because he appreciated it more now than he had in his entire seven...eight years that he'd been in Hogwarts. Eight years, because he'd been a fool and failed his N.E.W.T.S when he was in his seventh year. A mistake that he was bound determined to not let any of the seventh years, that were taking his class, make. The last thing he needed was the failure of a teacher, thinking that he'd caused the reasoning behind a student failing. The more Marcus thought about it, his own failing of his Defense Against the Dark Arts N.E.W.T was largely to do with Professor Lockhart's stupid way of teaching. The man had been total rubbish when it came to actually learning something from him.

The D.A.D.A. classroom had undergone massive transformations as the years went on. Professor Lockhart had hung up pictures of himself, and lined the walls with his books. Generally surrounding himself with...himself. With Professor Lupin, one could garentee that they would find some interesting creature in the classroom. Whatever the other teachers in Hogwarts had done to it after his departure was a mystery to him. But Marcus had added his own flair to it, as the other teachers did. The room was now decorated very little. But the teacher's presence was noted in the few things that were actually there. A few dark detector items were located on some of the shelves, items that he would use to teach the students. He had books strewn about, most of them dealing with counter-curses, or about magical creatures. His crup, unnamed, was up in his office, mostly likely curled up in a little ball, sleeping. The little jack russel like dog enjoyed his master's quiet ways, and in some ways the dog was just like him. Dark, broody, and just a little on the mean side. If he found someone he didn't like, the Crup would bark and growl at them. While is more often muggles, since it was such in the crup's nature to be horrible to muggles. Marcus tended to keep him away from the students.

As of right now, next to his desk, there stood a bird stand, with a large colorful bird perched upon it. It would be his main course of the lesson today, as well as a few other things. When the bell clanged, he found himself waiting for his students with his hip propped onto the corner of his desk, and his arms crossed over his chest. With each student that came in, he scowled at them. It was not in his nature to favor any of the little brats, but in his own way he had a soft spot for them.

"Shall we begin?" He asked once all of his students were present. "Alright you sods, in your seventh year, you should all, at least, be knowledgeable of all the different dark creatures that are around this earth. As well as all the various aspects of Dark Magic. Today we'll be studying one particular creature, and if we have time, going over some of the information you've obtained over the years. This bird," he gestured towards the large bird sitting on the stand, "Is known as a Fwooper. Odd named, and yes, very beautiful. However, it's a well known fact that beauty can be misleading. This bird must be sold with a silencing charm placed upon it. Can anyone tell me why?"

((I'll post 6th and 5th year later >.>...I chose seventh first because there seems to be alot more seventh years than anything else <.<))

Re: DADA Class - 7th Year
For the first time in seven years the classroom for Defense against the Dark Arts looked as if it had fallen into disarray. It was no wonder really, for the last seven years Hogwarts had gone through six different Professors; the position was proving to be jinxed time and time again. Books were strewn about in a lazy sort of way that gave the impression that their new professor cared little for either his classroom or just cleaning up after himself. Sounded much like someone she knew all too well, Leslie mused as she made her way into the classroom.

It had been a hushed sort of operation, and the staff as always had done a particularly good job of keeping everything under wraps. For gossip flew around the school like wildfire, and whenever something was supposed to be a complete secret; naturally everyone knew about it somehow. But this was different, then again everything had changed since last year... nothing was entitled to stay the same anymore.

She set her books and parchment down on the desk, and sat down; gingerly crossing one leg over the other. Leslie for a few moments time was content to allow her mind to wander as the rest of the students filed into the classroom. Towards the front of the room however, a bit of movement caught her attention as she focused her eyes on the new professor.

At first she couldn't believe what she was seeing, and an incredulous look crossed her face as she recognized in an instant the man who was milling about and preparing to start his class. "Marcus..." she said somewhat quietly with that unmistakable lofty tone in her voice still not believing her own eyes.

This bird must be sold with a silencing charm placed upon it. Can anyone tell me why?

Leslie's hand shot straight up, and while she knew the anwser to the question it was the last thing that was currently on her mind. Why on earth was he here teaching? The last thing she'd heard from him from the owl he'd sent to their mum and dad, was that he was well on his way to becoming an auror. So why was he back here at Hogwarts taking on the jinxed position as DADA professor? Before anyone else had a chance to anwser, she spoke up locking eyes with her older brother.

"Because the bird's song, while very beautiful will knock you off your trolley. Now what are you doing here ya bloody prat?"
