Cycle Lanes.
Warrington has at last been recognised for it's attempts at making the life of cyclists safer and attempting to get people out of cars on bikes.
Radio 4 said the Times listed the worst cycle lane in Britan to be in Warrington. Amongst it's many wasted attempts the worst was a lane covering a total of 3m.
This morning, the Warrington bike lane issue was discussed on the Good Morning program from a bike lane that seemed to serve absolutely no useful purpose. I think the argument was that WBC were more concerned in racking up statistics for the overall amount of cycle lane miles even though many of them do little to help the cyclist and indeed some of them could be considered dangerous.

Re: Cycle Lanes.
I've recently started walking part of the way to work. My route takes me along Locking Stumps road where there are cycle lanes on both sides of the road as you go over the M6 motorway. The other day a cyclist was considerate enough to leave the pavement and use the cycle lane whilst he passed me (although he was then on the wrong side of the road). I rarely see cyclists in these lanes anyway.
