Crash!
I Just crashed my heli! I was just flying around and noticed my rudder was acting funny. So I had it coming towards me (nose-in) and it didn't want to spin around. I was like ok, runway or grass? Grass! So then I had it about 4 ft off the ground and it was sporadically spinning around and it finally hit the ground mostly flat. The parts list so far look like this blades, boom, servo arm (rudder) and a fly bar. Not to bad considering! I just so happen to have the parts already and it should be ready for the weekend.

The one thing that bothers me is what exactly causes it? I have the rudder servo mounted on the boom and it does sometimes move? Bad Gyro or servo? I’ll have to dig into it tonight. It’s been over 2 months since my last crash so I’ve been pretty lucky!

Later,
Tom

Re: Crash!
So, I'm confused. You said rudder servo arm? Did it break in flight? Is that what caused the pirouetting?

You could have hit throttle hold on that 50v2 and auto'd it down I guess. Did you read my message about the header tank below? I had to do one for real the other day and it was my first one!

And you haven't crashed in 2 months??? I have crashed 6 times in the last 2 months! I hate you! :rollin

Let us know some more details!

Re: Crash!
Oh MAN! Sorry about your crash... Sometimes the gyro can break in a crash. It might bench test ok, but in flight it might be iffy. Bench test it, and then test fly it carefully. Mounting the tail servo on the boom is ok, as long as you keep it clean. If you don't clean off the oil it can ruin the servo.
