Could we incorporate this into the dinner meets?
Could we incorporate this into the dinner meets?
Ive got some friends that regularly get together for a "book club". Each fortnight someone in the group chooses a book and everyone else has to borrow it from the library and read it. Then they get together at the end of the fortnight and discuss the book over dinner/nibblys and see what everyone thought of it (whether they loved it or loathed it). It helps us to accept other peoples opinions and choices and read literature that we would not otherwise select to read ourselves. Also broadening our knowledge a bit (depending on what book was chosen ) And I thought it would appeal to Julia especially seeing as she loves a good healthy debate!
Let me know what you all think

that would be excellent! i always wanted a book club... LoL! but as long as it's not every fortnight... i don't think i have the motivation to sit down and read a book every single night, and it would take me at least a few weeks!

Ok well we should get a list of who wants to join in organised then we can sort out who's holding the dinner meet and who's choosing the book

how about we hold a dinner first, and if it goes well and everyone wants to continue it, then we could start the book club too......? sound good? i was thinking it might be a bit hard to get it started aswell, cos maybe not all the libraries will have the same books that ppls wanna read as a group...? we can look into it tho
