Carbs and meal sizes
Hi Darrin...I just came from Mike's journal and you mentioned he takes aproximately 40 grams protein,30 carbs and 20 fat for his breakfast...That freaked me out a bit:x cos I eat 30 protein,30 carbs and 15 fat( 10 grams coming from flax/hemp oil) for my breakfast:\ And I am puny compare to Mike:b I have around 90 grams of carbs in my plan at the moment. Breakie 30 and post workout 40 rest is pretty much fibrous veg only. On your web you said breakie is one of the biggest and post workout can be as high as 1/3 of your intake. In my case that would be nearly 500 cal since I am taking 1500 cal. I though it was too much nearly 50 grams protein and 50 carbs and some fat in whey,so I slashed it to 40 carbs/35 protein...

Pleeeeeease help me out here....thank you:D

Re: Carbs and meal sizes
I am being pretty aggressive with Mikes caloric restriction to start. You are eating maintenance level carbs and he is quite a bit below his maintenance levels.

As fot the post workout meal being as high as 1/3 your daily cals. It can, depending on your goal. It has been shown that most muscles recover faster and performance is improved by taking in as much as your body weight (in some cases much more) in carbs (1 g per lb, depending on BF level) with your post workout meal. If you are eating for performance your macronutrient ratios would change to a higher ratio of carbohydrates.

Your post work shake sounds about right for you.

Phew..thanx for lightning fast reply Darrin;) It is never just left or right...it is a little bit to teh left..more to the left...and so on:lol I hear what you are saying;) FAR OUT and I never though that 1500 cal for me and my activities would be maintenance!!!!Hmmm as for my carbs I cut down to 90 from 130 to lean out...so is it still too much? Sorry to bug you like this...send me a bill later...I am off to a harbour so I can afford you:hat
