I'm sorry to hear about your situation at home, I will be praying for you and your children, my friend. I know you've always stood by me and everyone else whenever we had a problem, and goodness knows you are always there whenever someone needs a friend, so I'd like to return the favor and I will be writing to you when I can.

It makes me sad to see you go, you're the second Captain we've had, and you've lived up to, if not surpassed, the expectations for any Captain.
You're a great leader, and a great friend, and I think I speak for everyone, especially the crew of the Avalon (Which you've left in good hands, if I may say so myself ), when I say that we will miss you, and I hope you will come back and visit us when you can.
