This is the thread for people who would like to join CNC(groups.yahoo.com/group/c_N_c/ ) to post their card magic expierience and their reasons for joining the group, lets us know what country youre from and a little about yourself too. We used to have people post in the websites guestbook, but its starting to get filled up, also theres not much room to post, so this is the new place to do it. Also make sure you post under the user name you appliied with so we'll know who to approve! Or at least post the username in your message. Thank you and good luck!

New..
Hey there,

I'm new to CNC, I ran across it when looking for some Magic Trick groups in Yahoo.

I have been interested in Card Tricks for years. I think the first "magical" 'toy' I received was when I was 7. It was a Groucho Marks Ventriliquist Dummy. I do consider that a magic trick, since it gives the illuision that the dummy is speaking.

When I was about 10 or so, I was going to the Fun Shop buying tons of gimmick decks, and beginner card trick books.

I'm 17 now, and since then I have gone past the gimmick decks. I don't consider gimmick decks useless, I just enjoy walking upto a poker game, and pulling a brain-whopping trick.

I enjoy sitting here infront of my computer, practicing with my cards, building my dexterity. I don't want to brag, my my dexterity with cards is so good, that people won't play card games with me.

My skill level, I would say just past Novice. I am not like an expert, but I consider my just bast novice since I come up with my own card tricks (only to find out later that most of these tricks already exist).

I guess that's about all I can say.

Thanks for your time!,

Hi!

This message board was spoken very highly of on Cardshark so I thought I would check it out.

I live in California and have been into card magic for a long time. Skill level is such a hard thing to classify. I guess I can fairly say that I am an intermediate level card magician; however, I might be able to get away with saying that I am advanced. Some of my favorite sleights to use in various tricks are the pass, bottom dealing, and of course double lifts. For the past 3 months I have been practicing the Pushover second deal - however, I still have a way to go before its more deceptive than my strike seconds.

Well, I guess thats all I can really say. I'm looking forward to seeing the site.

thanks
Victor

www.cardshark.fm
Thanks for the welcome and let me compliment you on how fantastic of a site this is.

www.cardshark.fm is a website devoted to card cheats and gambling. The site features, gambling protection tips, a very thorough section on marked cards, some videos, and even a tutorial section. The highlight of the site is probably the three year old message board where cardsharps and card enthusiasts talk about sleights, scams, and very esoteric cheating methods. I urge anyone seriously into card manipulation or gambling to check out this site - it is really a wealth of information.

Hi Guys, my name is Jon from Indonesia. Currently, I'm here in San diego, US.

To be honest with you guys, I'm just a beginner in this CARD MAGIC world. However, It's been about 5 months that I can't stop playing with cards. I work at night in a hotel, so there's plenty time to practice. I also do some volunteer work at Grossmont Hospital, and I use some magic tricks to entertain the sick people and fellow co-workers. It's nice to see them laughing and smiling. It makes all the works practicing worth a while.

Recently, I practice TRIUMPH from DAI VERNON. I have been practicing the same moves again and again about 1000 times. It's a very challenging and interesting trick.

I guess that's all I can say about myself. I'm looking forward to meet with all of you guys, the experts. I wish that I could be qualify to be a member.

Thank you for your time and consideration.

I have been doing magic off an on since I was 8. I have been more serious about my magic over the last few years. I'm interested in learning more flourishes. As far as card skill level, I would say I'm about average. I am currently working my way through the lost works of Brother John Hammon.

new entry...
sorry, i think this is the right place :)

hi out there,

i'm 28 years old and live in Berlin/Germany. I'm doing card magic since 3 years. I began with the card college from Giobbi, studied a lot of video material such as Daryls Card Encyclopedia etc., and think, that i mastered a lot of basic technics, so that i'm able to do nice cardmagic for people next to me.
Now i'm out to prepare a complete 30 min. card program and am looking for some new ideas for tricks, that others have made good experiences with.
If you want to let me share with you the things we cardpeople love, it would be very nice.

thanks,
remeo

Hi!

I thought I'd posted but I guess there was a problem with my post, so here we go again. I'm 17 from Greece and have beeing growing an increasing interest in magic tricks over the last few moths. Since there are no magic shops that I know here, the net is my only resourse. Hope I can learn some interesting things.

Hi Im from Ireland, and, like the person frmo Greece above, I use the internet as my primary resource for magic information- though I have gotten a few books from Amazon. Im 21 and only fairly new at card magic, only about 5-6 months. Im concentrating on close up magic and card flourishes (shuffles and cuts mainly). Im very interested in joining your forum and hope to hear from you soon ;)

Hello there!!! My name is Charlie Steilkie and I am from Cambridge, Maryland. I'm a 35yr old construction working with a love for close-up magic. I have been trying to dig in and start mastering the basics of card manipulation. I currently use two main books for my source of information ("The Amateur Magician's Handbook" and "The Little Giant Encyclopedia of Card & Magic Tricks"). I also have a few gimmicked cards. Such as the two-card monte( i am currently practicing the version with just normal cards now) and the double back bicycle card (red and blue). Anyway, my hopes are too maybe someday(with enough practice work at the local nite club here as a close-up artist. That is why I am here so I may draw some advice and knowledge.
Thanks for your time,
Charlie
